Why is everyone saying that Solas is a good romance?!?!?!
Spoiler
Anders blew up a building with my tacit consent and aid. And I still loved that romance
It doesn't have to end well to be a good tale.

It ended perfectly. My Hawke and Anders started the Mage revolution, lovers on the run, freeing Circle Towers wherever they go. But
Why is everyone saying that Solas is a good romance?!?!?!

Because it's a great story. And it also manages to avoid the trap of most other romances in the series where
Cullen all the way!
He is so f****** damn cute, aw my heart ![]()
Weird question but HOW do you end a romance? I'm with Blackwall (I can kiss him), but I can't find the option anywhere.
Some have the option to end it at any time (I accidentally broke up with Dorian due to this). Others, like Blackwall, only allow breakups at certain points in the story. In his case, after his personal quest, Revelations.
If it's your first playthrough, Solas. You only get hit once. ![]()
Honestly, though, he and Blackwall are actually my least favorite. People who lie about their identity to someone they're in a relationship are creepy to me. At least I can headcanon that my character never slept with Solas, but Blackwall... yeah. In real life, you could pursue legal charges for that (depending on where you live). Still, if you're up for angst and forgiveness, it's good for that.
I personally think Dorian and Cassandra are the two best romances in the game, though with Dorian in particular you need to pace it. If you're not careful, you can end up with all his romance dialog basically right after getting to Skyhold, giving you nothing for the rest of the game (as his personal quest is available ASAP). That leads to the stupid thing of 'Avoid talking to my love interest'. Still, both of those romances are, I think, the most well done.
In contrast, I think Cullen has the best paced romance in which it slowly unfolds over the full game. Cullen himself is not my type, but in terms of story, his may be one of the better done ones. Likewise, Josie's is pretty well paced: a lot of people find her too sweet, but I actually like that (she may be the most straightforward female love interest Bioware has ever done since Aerie, and I will take Josie over Aerie any day). Unfortunately, you don't get as much banter with those two as you do with almost anyone else.
Iron Bull I actually haven't done yet. Sera, I'm in the middle of, and I'm liking it as a fem!Qunari... but I think if I played an elf, I'd want to strangle her. YMMV.

Doesn't Blackwall though flat out tell you that getting involved with him is a bad idea and pretty much beg you to break it off?
I mean the guy lied but he didn't trick the Inquisitor into sleeping with him.
Blackwall.
But only if you like giant slabs of angst and woe wrapped in a beard and a hot Northern accent.
My Fem!Dwarf concurs wholeheartedly.
It also helps that I really like characters who are struggling against their angst and woe.
Solas is my personal favorite. Cullen and Dorian are also really well done.
Cullen and Solas, I guess. None that really appealed to my tastes though, sadly.
Sera is my favorite character that is romance-able. 'Kinda needed some brain-bleach when I saw her topless, though.
Story-wise, definitely Solas. If they ever make an Inquisition movie, they would be smart to center it around a female elf Inquisitor romancing Solas - that's some impressive, emotional, dear-god-what-have-i-done-but-i-will-do-it-again romance hell (╯◕_◕)╯
I like Cassandra's romance, and Cullen's is pretty good. Josephine's is a little cheesy, but it's got a cuteness to it. Solas's is all right, but it annoyed me when the spoilertastic things happened. Sera's is titillating, but that's it. Blackwall's is nothing to write home about. Iron Bull's had some hilarity in the beginning, but the end was not interesting. I never had an interest in romancing Dorian, and I couldn't sit through the YouTube of it.
I'm going to say Solas. His romance is very well written and adds a great deal to the story.

Cassandra. Has actual progression and feels like you earned her love. Rather than it just coming up because dialogue options or because you're the only member of someone's race who happens to be female, lol.

From the two I have done in Josie and Cass. I like Josie romance the best.
I really don't care for Josie as a character. She seems silly and shallow to me. I don't find her physically appealing and her accent annoys me. Are there some interesting layers to her that I miss by not romancing her?
I also detest Blackwall and Iron Bull and Sera is just weird. Cullen and Cassandra are terrific and despite what I know, I am now romancing Solas. I think that romance will add an interesting dimension to the game.

As much as I love Solas and his romance I do wish there had been options for non-Lavellan Inquistiors to flirt with him. It would've been nice to see his reaction to this, and how he'd cope with turning down a non-f!Lavellan.
1. Solas / Cullen
2. Iron Bull
3. Dorian ( since i play females only, we didnt really have a romance ofc, but that flirting was fun
)
I really like the romance with Solas and i hope there will be an Add on or DLC so we can meet again. ![]()
I also love Cullen and Iron Bull, haven't romanced anyone else yet.
I'm a big fan of nomance with an unrequited crush on Varric or Viv.
*cough*
That being said, from what I've seen, Cullen and Josie are both safe and sweet. Blackwall and Solas are delicious trainwrecks. Iron Bull and Dorian are both great for inquisitor character building. Sera's hot pink candy fluff with a shot of high octane rum. And I like Cass.
