Sorry if there is already a topic on this.

Anyway we knew that Hawke was coming, but when I personalized my Hawke and she walked down the stairs after Varric said, "The Champion of Kirkwall" I basically fangirled. I was like "OH MY GOD IT'S LYRA! (my F!Hawke's name)"

While the rest of Hawke's cameo is debatable, I was very pleased with how Hawke was introduced.

I didn't like how the Inquisitor tried to one-up her though. "At least you had one city to worry about. I have all of Thedas."
Yeah, we get it Inquisitor, your important. I still think Hawke is more epic than you, though.

Anyway excuse my rant. What was your reaction when you saw your own, personalized Hawke step out? I imagine the character customization differences must have made it harder to get that reaction out of everyone, but I'm curious as to other opinions.

 

EDIT: Do we know if Sebastian's in the Chantry or not? My Hawke who romanced him says yes, but the War Mission Board says no.

Both. At first i thought "Er, i'll probably avoid the forum for a while"

 

Then i thought "Wait, this is a bioware game....this is going to end tragically", lost a serious mustache there.

 

And i was fine with my Hawke, but my brother said he "hated" his because they "became too serious" when he played his completely sarcastic. I figure that would be the case, I knew people would be displeased because Hawke was now an NPC and so could not control them (which is a concern i have for Solas and the Inquisitor in future DLC/games)

What do you mean Solas? You can't control him in the first place. And SarcastiHawke's still pretty sarcastic, but also blames him/herself for what might be the end of the world. That would definitely put a damper on my mood.

Clarification: How the Inquisitor will react to him or his actions in the future. Because i doubt a presence like the Inquisition will be ignored.

 

"You alreadly dropped half a mountain on the bastard". I agree Hawke suited the "mid ground" personality. With all going on, an immature child would be a pretty bad idea.I thought Hawke was done really well, but i could parrot what my older brother said as an opposing view. I must say, though, i hated how Hawke wasn;t my Hawke. It took me ages to make a good looking Inquisitor and Hawke just doesn't cut it.

Mine was "Oh ****, thanks for the damn spoiler, Bioware!" due to Hawke being revealed in a trailer. I mean, what the hell? You do not reveal a secret that big via a trailer.

 

However, Hawke's intro is done well and i love how a Qunari Inquisitor flat out tells Hawke that they are a horde of rampaging Qunari. Shame we don't get to call ourselves a horde of rampaging qunari. I do wish that SnarkyHawke was more snarky then he/she is along with him/her have a few interactions with inner circle. I don't really spare Loghain or not make Alistair king so losing hawke is never an option for me. However, if Bioware decided to be damn right sadistic bastards by making us pick between The Warden and Hawke, it would be the hardest choice to make in the entire history of the franchise.  I like how Hawke comes off as just being tired of having crap thrown at them as it shows how much stress he/she is under. Along with the guilt of him/her after realising that they kinda caused the events of the breach. Shame that they can't work for the Inqusition as i would have been happy for Hawke's story to be ended by having them work for us then going back to trying to live their life in Kirkwall.

Generally you should avoid trailers if you don't want spoilers. Or ask someone who doesn't care to tag it for you.

I always loved Hawke. I had no idea how people could hate them. Equal only to my confusion as to why people love the Warden so much.

Quite happy. Both my Hawke and Inquisitor got along very well. Worked out in the end for both of them (Sorry Stroud)

I didn't know Hawke was going to appear in the game, so I was surprised and giddy (even though I didn't really care for DA2). I wondered if my HoF was going to get a cameo too, and looked for spoilers right away, but found out pretty quickly that it was not going to happen. I was excited about my Hawke being there, and somewhat disappointed that my HoF would not be appearing. But the novelty of Hawke being around was rapidly overwhelmed by the realization that Loghain was making an appearance. Total hype overload, then.

But I looked totally manly and just nooded slowly. There was also an explosion behind me.

 

Seriously, it was one of the greatest moments in the game for me. I felt terrible for sacrificing Stroud, since he saved Bethany's life in a way, but then again my Inquisitor did it. Isn't it great to have two different POVs for morality and guilt at your disposal?

The very first time?

 

Even though my Hawke didn't look exactly right, I had played Dragon Age II right before Inquisition, and since I like Hawke, my first thought was "I really wish I could be playing Hawke right now."

 

Since then, I've pretty much nailed down my canon Inquisitor and I no longer have those feelings. But the first time - yeah, I wanted to be playing Hawke.

Edit: forgot I took a screenie of it! It was HAWKKKKKKKKKKKKKKE! 

 

Same !! well..just replace Lyra with my own hawke name  Then I had to choose her face and since the cc doesn't have the Hair I had in DA2 I just went with default...so droole ensue cose I though default Hawke looked Gorgeous !!! 

 

Then felt embarassed cose I was wearing some crappy PJ while she was on Armor  Thats like being caugh wearing Pj and fluffy shoes or something . 

 

But that passed cose I was a Qunari Mage and way taller then her . Yup take Pride that the champion has to look up instead of down 

 

The only Downside of bringing Hawke is that in the Keep it seem it doesn't matter what personality you choose . Sarcastic/charming personality never showed up for me . Hawke is serious and Angry ....and I missed funny Hawke . 

 

And of course..Saved Hawke..like no brainer! Hawke gotta get back to bela

I love sarcastic Hawke . but as I said , I made my hawke in the keep as charming/sarcastic . But in DAI she seem angry like hell . The only difference was in the fade where she crack a Joke that the chantry owed her something . But the few time you are with Hawke..she seemed angry .
