The very first time?

 

Even though my Hawke didn't look exactly right, I had played Dragon Age II right before Inquisition, and since I like Hawke, my first thought was "I really wish I could be playing Hawke right now."

 

Since then, I've pretty much nailed down my canon Inquisitor and I no longer have those feelings. But the first time - yeah, I wanted to be playing Hawke.

 

Yeah, pretty much the same for me.

 

By now, I've found a way to completely headcanon my Inquisitor's background and came up with a really cool concept, so now I'm very comfortable with him. The criticsed bland answers really help to seldomly break that, so I'm genuinely not sure if that wasn't really the idea. If it weren't for the predefined backgrounds, I'd be certain of it.

I was excited to see Hawke, don't get me wrong, but a lot of that was spoiled because in my first playthrough, I had to use default Hawke to avoid the glitch that changed your voice, which looks nothing like default Hawke from DA2. Second playthrough was better, but with the lack of any hairs from DA2 I just couldn't make my Hawke look right. So, yeah.

This was when there was a bug that changed your inquisitor's voice if you altered Hawke's appearance

I love sarcastic Hawke . but as I said , I made my hawke in the keep as charming/sarcastic . But in DAI she seem angry like hell . The only difference was in the fade where she crack a Joke that the chantry owed her something . But the few time you are with Hawke..she seemed angry . 

The Maker's bosom or something. And yeah I get that, but again, she feels like it's her fault that the world might end.

Sadly, it wasn't a surprise for me due to pre-release spoilers (most of which I did manage to avoid). So by the time it actually rolled around I was more curious than anything else. But if it had been a surprise I imagine I would have been all fangirly over the prospect.

I was happy to see Hawke, but her and Varric's getting down on themselves over Corypheus was horsecrap, because it was a total setup by lousy Grey Wardens and an ancient evil that most normal folks had no way of knowing even existed. That brand of guilt is for the birds, man.

I love the Inquisitor's lampshade on this one. It's great dry humour.

The inchoherent screaming began during Varric's dialogue in the throne room. And continued all the way up to the battlements.... good times. xD

Of course, after talking to Hawke, I also desperately wanted to play as Hawke again instead of my Quizzy... sigh.

Lots of the same reactions here, interesting. People were excited, people wanted to play as Hawke. I would rather play as Hawke too.

Sorry if there is already a topic on this.

Anyway we knew that Hawke was coming, but when I personalized my Hawke and she walked down the stairs after Varric said, "The Champion of Kirkwall" I basically fangirled. I was like "OH MY GOD IT'S LYRA! (my F!Hawke's name)"

While the rest of Hawke's cameo is debatable, I was very pleased with how Hawke was introduced.

I didn't like how the Inquisitor tried to one-up her though. "At least you had one city to worry about. I have all of Thedas."
Yeah, we get it Inquisitor, your important. I still think Hawke is more epic than you, though.

Anyway excuse my rant. What was your reaction when you saw your own, personalized Hawke step out? I imagine the character customization differences must have made it harder to get that reaction out of everyone, but I'm curious as to other opinions.

 

EDIT: Do we know if Sebastian's in the Chantry or not? My Hawke who romanced him says yes, but the War Mission Board says no.

When I saw I Hawke I couldn't help but wonder what was going to get inexplicably fucked up or who would die in the most preventable way ever.

I would've sacrificed my Inquisitor in a heartbeat to save Stroud, Loghain, or Alistair. Also, I remember thinking about how awesome the champion armor set was.

I use default male Hawke sans Nutella face so when asked to customize I selected "default Hawke" without thinking about it.  I forgot that default Hawke is Nutella face Hawke.

The same reaction when I saw Hawke anytime playing DA2. "Meh". Yeah, Hawke is just "meh" for me, and apparently for most people according to Ultimate Party results. The problem with Hawke is, most people cannot seem to love or hate Hawke. Didn't even bother trying to make her look like my custom Hawke from DA2.
