I was glad to see him even for the moment. Catch up with him. He was quite cynical about everything. I can't blame him. Ordinary guy from Lothering lost his home, servitude for a year, Deep Roads expedition gone haywire (losing a sibling by orge and possibly deep roads via death or Warden). Losing his mother, facing corrupt mages and templars, and still being forced out of Kirkwall. In the end, I thought.. See ya on the flip side before he left.

It was sooo cool being able to customize Hawke.  I was thrilled to be able to finally make a favorite Hawke look like I always imagined he did.  Sorry, Stroud.

I for one was thrilled to see Hawke again.

 

On the other hand, I was a little disappointed that my Hawke upped and left after I left Stroud in the fade. It just seemed a little out of character that Hawk would run off to Weisshaupt Fortress after making some speech about Corytheus being his responsibility.

 

It certainly feels that the story is heavily tailored towards the assumption that Hawke is the one left in the Fade.

 

It was great to fight alongside him during " Here lies the Abyss" though.

I knew that Hawke will appear in Inquisition. Still, when she was walking down the stairs I had proud mama feelings. "Awww, that's my baby!" But then I started to talk with her and... I was kind of heartbroken. She kept some of her wits and charm, but come on! Why so much whining! I just facepalmed and thought: "I should have seen that coming..."

First time I saw them was in the trailer, and it was absolute delight. I had thought we were also getting the HoF, but that was kind of upsetting we did not get them in the game.

 

In regards to Hawke though, super happy, I had all the feels at that time.

Considering I had to spend 15-30mins remaking his face in the CC, I didn't feel much of anything when I actually saw him. Though, I did think, "They better not touch my Warden in the future", after I was done with everything.

Yeah.  I really didn't care.  This wasn't any of my Hawkes, mine were all off somewhere trying to either forget Kirkwall exhisted or trying to help some of the fugitives or even settled down on some mountain top with twins on the way, depending on which of my games I'm thinking of.

Yeah, although, out of all excuses for the missing LIs, his at least made the most story sense.

I liked the cameo. I thought Hawke was pretty much in character for me overall, and my custom Hawke looked close enough to the default that I just had to tweak a few things...the beard hides some of the differences I couldn't quite match with the cc...
I was disappointed that Hawke leaves right away, if you spare him, though. I was hoping the fade survivor would show up to fight along side you during the final battle, before disappearing off to wherever again. And it made me really want to play Hawke again.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing future PCs brought back this way again in the future, though I have a feeling this was a one off experiment, considering the Warden and Inquisitor are probably too much of a blank slate to do this with.

I was quite pleased after that though, really enjoyed having her along on a few missions. I do wish that there was more of a difference between diplomatic, snarky and aggressive Hawke though. The dialogue mostly seemed to lean towards diplomatic or aggressive (but not consistently enough to fit either).
