First happy and then sad. Hawk had a really rough life.

 

Pretty much everything Hawk had was taken away or destroyed. I had the snarky Hawk, but it was clear she was sad her friends couldn't get along.

 

I also remember the music they played in the background for Hawk when Hawk would enter her home. It was melancholy in DA2. 

 

After making sure she didn't die in the fade, I was hopeful that Hawk and her friends could get back together again.

I enjoyed a lot seeing him. Not so much time has passed between DA2 and DAI, as opposed to the 10 years since the Blight. So while Leliana, Alistair, Morrigan and the Warden have aged a decade, Hawke was pretty much the same guy and I felt this helped the transition.

 

I find it hilarious how people are commenting that they hate the Inquisitor and they wish Hawke could have been the main character again. It's the same reaction Hawke was getting a few years ago.

Sad. He totally burned out. This is understandable, but it was bad to see. But I was glad that he have someone, who wait him.

I was happy to see Hawke again and even happier to leave him to die in the Fade. It was good to have official end to that character.

Besides for my Canon Hawke.. (3 I can't kill him. I can however, kill unrelated Hawke's with great ease...

The first time I saw my mage Hawke I was very happy. I like to keep my characters alive if possible (when I do my mage playthroughs) so I saved Hawke and had Logain stay behind.

I love my Hawke with all my heart. To be honest, people who don't like him immediately earn my disliking. But having more then one Hawke is a cop out. It's just an easy way to have your cake and eat it too. Let them live or kill them, not have five of them so you can have both results.

My 1st reaction was: "He doesn't look like the default Hawke in the game, let alone the CG version!"  Followed by "What happened to my Inquisitor's voice?!" (remember that bug? Not that I minded since I liked the changed voice)

 

But really though, when it comes down to it, I do feel sorry for Hawke. I honestly did not like how they treated Hawke; I was sure that he'd have a somewhat larger role to play than he did, but really he was better of just writing a letter ala The Warden. The way that we have a choice of killing him off was bad since it just means Bioware can just wipe their  hands free of Hawke; afterall, he can be dead in other playthroughs.

 

It's a good thing Varric (who'll be the next Viscount) and Aveline will stick with him throughout. 

 

Now that it's been over a year and all the DLCs have been released, I have to say that I do like Hawke's personality more than I did Inquisitor's. Maybe dialogue was cut due to having 4 (2 per sex) voices rather than just 1 each?

What? That's silly. Lots of people have multiple playthroughs, whether it's to make different choices or to give Hawke a different personality/class/gender.

I have a crapton of different Wardens, some of whom I made just so I could have a world state where I did the US, or have an OGB or whatever.

First reaction was relief at having been able to recreate a reasonable facilimile of him.

Then i grew  ever more annoyed as he repeatedly acted completely out of character

Then i was half relieved half annoyed at him going off to Weisshaupt.

Then i was annoyed again as he apparently became Varric's manservant.

Seriously, I spent about a hour reloading and staring at a screenshot of my DA2 Hawke, trying to get them as close as possible. Eventually I had to settle for "close enough". (wasn't even that close...)

I knew that Hawke will appear in Inquisition. Still, when she was walking down the stairs I had proud mama feelings. "Awww, that's my baby!" But then I started to talk with her and... I was kind of heartbroken. She kept some of her wits and charm, but come on! Why so much whining! I just facepalmed and thought: "I should have seen that coming..."

 

 

So did I befoer I played the first time. Buit when they showed up I thought to myself " finally I've got someone who can kick ass in this Inquisition." Or at least burn their ass into gear given my first Hawke I imported was a mage.

My first reaction was "I KNEW IT!! I KNEW VARRIC WAS LYING!"

After Hawke was created; "Why is Hawke's hair actually black while my Inquisitor's is, like, dark gray? Oooh, crap. Her eyes aren't right!" *restarts*

I'm glad we met Hawke under chill circumstances, because I restarted that part a million times to make her look how I wanted. It would've sucked to have to go through a million cutscenes or a battle everytime I wanted to restart, lol. It was cool re-creating her in a better CC. Despite what seems like an overwhelming disappointment on the bsn towards Hawke's "cameo", I loved almost everything about it. I wish Hawke and the Warden weren't completely useless in battle, though.

I first saw Hawke in the trailer, rather than the game itself, so my first reaction is "I hope she's secretly a usable companion!"

My first reaction to seeing my Hawke in game was to ask "Wait, why does she have a shield!? She's got a zweihander in all the DA2 warrior marketing stuff! She's got a zweihander in the Keep! And she had a freaking zweihander when I used her! WHY THE RAGGEDY-LOOKING WOODEN SHIELD!?" followed by a *sadface*.

Since I never got beyond the demo of DA II, I felt indifferent.

First, overjoyed (I made my custom Hawke). But then I noticed my f!Cadash speaking freaking funny due to the infamous voice change glitch if you create a custom Hawke.

I reloaded and had to go with the iconic Hawke which wasn't my Fengirl a**hole bloodmage anymore. I gladly left her in the Fade
