First, overjoyed (I made my custom Hawke). But then I noticed my f!Cadash speaking freaking funny due to the infamous voice change glitch if you create a custom Hawke.
I reloaded and had to go with the iconic Hawke which wasn't my Fengirl a**hole bloodmage anymore. I gladly left her in the Fade
My Isabela Romance is a Bloodmage too. And he's snarky. I can't kill my canon due to the fact I love Isabela. She's so grand in her romance (sighs), and I'm a Straight female too, lol.

"How dare you take my name in vain!"
"Well you weren't here, Hawke..."
"So you gave my name to someone else instead of remebering me?"

Well I hadn't watched any of the trailers, so Hawk's cameo was a complete surprise.....a pleasant one though. That moment in the great hall when Varric says he has a friend and he's being all shifty about it.....and I thought how funny would it be if it was Hawk......then the sudden realisation....wait could it actually be Hawk! I didn't actually believe it until the option to either use the custom Hawk or re-create my own was on the screen.
I was actually impressed that I had managed to physically recreate her first time around, although I had already had a ton of practice with the CC with my inquisitor. By the time the Black Emporium was introduced, I'd pretty much nailed CC.
Then there was that moment, when she first speaks - that voice! I was suddenly made aware of how soft and silky it sounded compared to my inquisitor and the other characters. In my DA2 play through she was a rogue and I used a mixture of diplomatic and sarcastic/funny retorts, but manly sarcastic/funny. For me she was very true to character. Considering all the things she has been through and the fact that she feels guilty about Corphyeus, I am happy with how things turned out.
It did make me wish that I could've seen the HOF again as well. Given the fact that the HOF had no voice, that would prove tricky. Maybe they could (hypothetically if they ever did this for a future game) give us the choice between two voices and let us choose, like they did for the inquisitor; or let us keep our HOF silent. Sadly I don't see them actually doing this.
