I just want to play a game with four power-based, turret-using QFE's sometime. I get the feeling that with four damage specced turrets out, the game would change amusingly.

Two Combat Drones, A Quarian Turret and a Geth Turret certainly make for fun frame rates at times, but against Geth are truly insidious

Ive always wanted to do this as well but with may different combos. So like a game with 4 Geth Turrets all specced for healing, or 4 Combat Drones all specced for shock damage, etc

Do the turrets heal each other? If so, that might work. Otherwise... not enough dps to stop a spawn.

Healing =/= dps, the point of the experiment was to have 4 turrets heal the players so constantly that they could survive tons of damage

Maybe be a fun mod for ME3MP Tower Defense where you get characters that have their 3 powers all be different types of pets.  Though I don't know if that's even possible

4x Volus Merc is better ... especially against Geth, it's like some kind of beautiful stunlock revenge!

I am firmly in the 4 ranks is enough camp when it comes to both the sentry and geth turrets. And yeah, I did try maxing it out with every variation out there before and overstacking it with power damage and it was still very VERY mediocre. Not useless, but hardly worth the points.

Negative. Machines are OP. Sinful Force says he always specs into Sentry Turret. At least 4 points.

I never heard this version of this joke... I don't get it.

So fae I'm liking my fqe build focused on firepower over tech powers.

Sentry turret staggers, freezes, distracts, and mows down enemies, leaving me to focus gunfire on other stuff (ar and pistol). I dropped incinerate but still have cry to freeze enemies running up on me.

Has anyone experimented with the cryo rounds very extensively? Seems to me that doubling your damage vs armor and health would be way better, but I've been wrong before. I think. I mean, I can't remember specifically, but it must have happened at some point. Right? I could be wrong about that.

Sinful never tried them. So reason enough to try them, he says.

In fairness it isn't exactly the same, because turret does require a little micromanagement and headknowlege™ to work rather than just point at the enemy> press button for win, and its last couple of ranks don't bring the same exponential benefits as some other powers. Still, for pretty much every engineer with a pet, there's an infiltrator or other kit that can do almost all the same things better if you spec out of it. I get the reasons why people spec out of them, but I don't get the reasoning behind playing those kits with such a build in the first place.

Saboturian is the one where I could see it, because he actually does make a good melee kit and the points in fitness have to come from somewhere that isn't sabotage. Otherwise, Droneless HE= worse Paladin, Turretless QFE= worse Paladin or HI, Decoyless SE= worse Paladin or worse SI, Turretless GE= worse TGI or GI. Puggernaut is just terrible in general so not going there. In general though, fitness has the same issue of not really doing anything except for rank 5 on anything that isn't melee, krogan or drell, so I don't see why anyone would completely spec out of a pet just to max it. Even if I only use a rank 4 turret to stagger a couple of fantums per wave, it's more useful than 150 extra shields.

basically, just play the Paladin if you want tech combos but don't like pets. Or don't, because he sucks and is really annoying. His girly death voice is funny, though.

Well, I still run my jugg, with a full healing turret and I don't regret it. I only use it myself for small heals crossing open terrain, with enemies pecking at my shields. By far most of the time, it's there to heal teammates and distract enemies from them on approaches I don't cover myself.

Sadly, people still don't know how to properly utilize a jugg on the team. When I switch from guns to heavy melee on 2 banshees and 2 brutes during an objective wave, it's not because I'm in problems or being slow at killing... I'm tying down the banshees and brutes, from sneaking up on or spawning next to the person doing the objectives. I don't want to kill them, til the objectives are done.

Recently gave up Cryo and went back to armor but stuck with more damage and rockets over shock and flame.

It no longer Tech Bursts or freezes things, but now the turret just MOWS down non bosses.

I know everyone's entitled to their own playstyle and opinion, but to all the people who describe the Turret as being only useful on Bronze or Silver, or as only useful to noobs - the truth is you're the noobs.  Fitness points on the QFE are a waste.  Why would you turn down free DPS which also functions as a stagger tool and a direction pointer towards the enemy?  It's truly bizarre.

....because you don't just turn it down -

you get that split second longer in the open you need to fire longer, cast another incinerate, etc. etc.

But I am also speccing into the turret now - just to experience more aspects of this game.

It actually is fun to use - and it definitely does not do nothing.

However, the statement that the turret is better if you are a beginner, is justified in my opinion.

Because you get it from the start without any grinding - and it is automatic.  So it simply cannot be too good on gold/plat -

otherwise it would destroy bronze, wouldnt it?

You could say now that the other powers are there from the start, too.  But at least they require a certain amount

of understanding for tech bursts and BE's to properly use them on higher difficulties - moreover: you have to be able to actively

set off those explosions (aim and don't die in the course of it)

And they scale with difficulty - which would be so great for the turrets, too  :(
