They should go for more small scale plots. SWTOR shows they can do it.
I would not complain about another Imperial Agent like storyline without all that needless MMO grinding wrapped around it.
Agreed.

They had a save game import system that amounted to an unmanageable number of resolves. The permutations became too much to the point that closure was presented very cheaply. Here is the thing, writing for a book is unlimited because the medium is the imagination. Writing for a game is limited by the development.

I could totally get behind this. I didn't stick with SWTOR but both the Imperial Agent and Bounty Hunter stories were great.

I never got to finish the two stories I started but they did seem rather self-contained which I think is cool.
My main point is not about how much a theoretical Mass Effect field could reduce the mass of an object, but that likelyhood of running into things you can't even see coming would be astronomically high.
That said, simply, circumference i.e. the size of the object, is still a factor. For instance, in order for something twice the size of a photon with the same mass to move faster than light, it would need to have 4 times the energy. something the size of a grapefruit(still with the same mass of a photon) to move faster than light and I get worried that much energy is getting near the Planc temperature.
Gohan as f*ck.

I get it, And i really see your point. And that's why they have used the Dark Energy element.

I still need to play IA. Heard great things about it though. I've heard great things about all the empire side stories tbh.

The stories are good. It's just utterly destroyed by the endless grind. It's enough to make you want to subscribe so I refuse in a admittedly petty **** you to EA.

Yup. Should've been KOTOR 3. I'm still mad about that.

If it was Kotor 3 we probably would have just got the bland Jedi Knight SWTOR story. Which is apparently the worst of them all.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. You're looking at it all wrong. Many of the current questions science can't answer is whether there is alien life or not and how to create a better fuel than fossil fuel, And how to overcome time dilation or the many other complications space travel has. Eezo is created when a star goes supernova, Eezo created dark energy which can be manipulated to create Mass Effect fields that can allow FTL travel.
"FTL drives are devices which allow ships to travel at FTL speeds through space. FTL drive cores work by exposing element zero to electric currents, creating mass effect fields. It reduces the mass of an object, such as a starship, to a point where velocities faster than the speed of light are possible. With a mass effect drive, roughly a dozen light-years can be traversed in the course of a day's cruise without bending space-time and causing time dilation." - The Codex
Therefore, It solves the problem of space travel. And as Legion explained in Mass Effect 2, The way someone gets a certain technology is as important as he technology itself. For example, When the organic species find things like Eezo to mine on harvested species worlds, It hinders scientific development as you got that for granted not through a way you fully understood it therefore, The Reapers tech is much more advanced than ours and that's why we can't easily fight against it. Not because they're giant cuttlefish jerks as many see them. I could go on all night explaining things people don't see because they're not paying attention, But it would take a lot of time and given how you guys are responding to it, I don't think it's worth my time.
This doesn't even attempt to acknowledge my question, let alone answer it.

Good point. But KOTOR 4, 5, & 6 could have possibly been the other stories. Well, I hope whatever Visceral's working on will scratch that single player Star Wars itch since Batllefie- *ahem* Battlefront is looking lackluster.

Yeah. Well Sith Warrior is the closest to an Obsidian style Kotor 3 we're going to get with it's **** the Jedi and **** the Sith too attitude.
Nope. Me1 has a lot of issues like this. Like why the hell did he need to show himself a traitor? he could have got access to Conduit without any trouble. He's a friggin Specter he could have just asked and saw it immediately.
To be fair, all Mass Effect villains suffer from a unique case of stupidity and short-sightedness.

True. I miss ME2's illusive man.
Why did he have to go full psycho?
Yeah I might have dropped TOR forever and a day ago but I'm going to have to agree that IA was a huge highlight for me. I sometimes ponder getting back into it but ehh, no real motivation at this point. I am still bitter about the whole MMO aspect of it though (not to mention it wouldn't be Obsidian handling it if they didn't go the MMO route, so no thanks).

I'm out of likes so back to the tried and true, "This" response.

I already told you you're asking the wrong question based on a wrong prejudice of my statement. So, That's that.
Anyway, what is everybody else's thoughts on story in video games?
Form and content. A story can have a good content, a bad content or an inexistent content, regardless of how well it has been told.
Baldur's Gate has good content, Pillars of Eternity has bad content, Dragon Age 2 has inexistent content.
If the "art" of a story is an excuse to tell me bland or wrong ideas, no thanks. Keep your narrative with you and let it feed the crows. ![]()

Watch #based Legend of the Galactic Heroes so you can cleanse your soul of filth.
Then watch #based JoJo so you can fill it with the good kind of filth.

You could've just said "I don't want to."

What on earth is inexistent content?
All you plebs should be playing TW3 instead of arguing about narrative. TW3 shows that fantastic narrative helps make a fantastic game better.

No, I'm completely open, I just don't think that it's right to ask that question in such a way because it's an over-simplification.

No PS4. I also barely remember the plot of TW1 and 2. I should go back to them first.

Is that even a word? Even if he used the correct word it still doesn't make sense. Nonexistent and content are mutually exclusive.
