Because it's a subjective storytelling. For example, I don't like Chris Nolan's narrative style, But that doesn't make his movies bad, It's just that i don't like them. It's just a subjective taste. The idea here is that some movies/vidogames have the potential to be seen as something they are not because its material could be easily misinterpreted. Therefore, The people see it as fan service, Throw away popcorn. And they fail to see its subjective quality. Or any of its depth.

People always use the words subjective and objective with no idea what they mean.

@bold: Yes you did.

@italics: No you didn't. That supposed explanation is what I've been asking for this entire time.

No, I didn't. I just said that it's accurate way of imagining a new fictional world, To imagine new ways in which we can face these challenges.  Each true sci-fi offered a way in which we can overcome these challenges. For example, Star Trek had the wrap drives, Mass Effect had Eezo and the mass relays, ... etc.

I think people just use it liberally.

Like when peeps use the opinion card during arguments.

Sure, an opinion is okay.

But it doesn't make it right.

And it doesn't stop me from calling it stupid.

Agreed. I wouldn't say a story with narrative merit is necessarily showcasing state-of-the-art brilliance though.

Nevertheless you are allies with each other.

Even if that was true, how does that justify you acting salty towards praise of The Witcher 3? It's even more strange because you're playing the game.

I-I'm not sure where I was going with that myself actually. It's late. I should go to bed.

I just really like Mass Effect because i did have a similar concept to it before i even played it. That's why the franchise is special to me.

Therefore, It solves the problem of space travel. And as Legion explained in Mass Effect 2, The way someone gets a certain technology is as important as he technology itself. For example, When the organic species find things like Eezo to mine on harvested species worlds, It hinders scientific development as you got that for granted not through a way you fully understood it therefore, The Reapers tech is much more advanced than ours and that's why we can't easily fight against it. Not because they're giant cuttlefish jerks as many see them. I could go on all night explaining things people don't see because they're not paying attention, But it would take a lot of time and given how you guys are responding to it, I don't think it's worth my time.

Wow, really? That's why they couldn't fight them easily. Man I never looked at that way.

As some one who's singing the praise of ulterior deeper meanings I would think that would be an easy one.

No I'm not. Honestly as much as I agree to an extent that people just take things at face value. You give people too little credit. I also can't help but wonder from past posts if maybe you read into things just a little too much. I.E. Giving the ME writers maybe just a little too much credit. But that's just me, to each their own in the end.

Yes, Maybe. Contrary to popular belief about me, I'm very open to criticism just as long as you don't get on my nerves with the attitude. I have thought about that before, Maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit because i did have a similar idea to Mass Effect and therefore seeing depth that isn't there. But when i read that interview with Mass Effect 1's Drew K, He did prove a couple of points that i did have about the ending and narrative of ME3 and the entire Mass Effect trilogy as a whole. So that convinced me that they really are just as i see them.
