I've been going pretty damn slow, exploring all the planets, doing all the quests... etc. 17 or so hours in. My concern is getting all the possible upgrades I can get for the Normandy, and having everyone survive, so I'm making sure I don't miss anything.
I think you and i both are the type that does everything we can and we have the greatest chance to make it through without anyone dying.
i feel the way i play is so prepared I will be set for the end (whatever it may be) I may have to in the future see what happens on youtube when you don't prepare b/c everytime I play through I will most likely go this slow and thorough.

Exactly. It's just that Bioware has created such a team of interesting characters that I'd hate for any of them to die, and miss out on some interesting story element in ME3. *Archangel spoilers?* Especially Garrus. Oh Garrus... I was so upset when he was lying there in a pile of blood, I thought I'd done something wrong and got him killed, then he woke up. Whew. Tense moment.
I hate that feeling that I've done something wrong. So I'll go to any lengths to stop that. I MUST have my perfect save for ME3

I'm only 8 or 9 hours in and I've finished everything I could at Omega and the Citadel. Now I'm starting to scan planets as much as possible. Liking it a lot so far.

So I just beat ME2 last night - saved my whole crew, did all loyalty missions, etc but missed pretty much all side quests, yada yada. But now that I have this sated warm glow about the story, everytime I play after it's really thorough and I can just relax and take my time and enjoy all the small bits of story and nuance I may have missed the first time.

So is anyone out there going really slow in Mass Effect 2 and enjoying every second of the game?
Instead of blazing through and doing everything fast as possible I'm enjoying every moment of the game. I think i am 7+ hours in and i've only recruited the doctor salarian and regained Garrus back.
same here, rushing this game is about the best way to spoil it I guess, so far every moment is pure fun, and I'll keep my deliberate pace, enjoying conversations, exploring the world...

Sometimes I wonder if I am one of the few that will play sequences over and over again, trying to tweak my outcome. I must have played through the missions on Omega about 3 times a piece.

I'll provide some insight into the opposite viewpoint. I'm a very big completionist, but never the 1st time through. I'm a story junkie. Such a bad story junkie that I get so caught up in wanting to see it that I tend to start accelerating the main plot points and shirking un-needed side missions/quests/stuff.

See for me i made the mistake of rushing through ME1 too fast, I was going slow until i hit a major plot point and i blazed through, I regretted it later b/c I could have really enjoyed it all. So this time around I am making sure I go as slow as i can enjoying it all one step at a time making sure to not miss a thing.
I enjoy the suspence of what will happen next and not knowing the ending of the game yet.

That being said, I tend to play games VERY slowly anyway...so who knows how long it'll be until I beat this game. I'm hoping not too long.

I did have a difficult time on the human colony on Horizon and one battle sequence I had such a tough time with involving 3 different types of enemies and it took me like 20 trys before I survived that battle!! I definitely need to work on my strategy!! This game is tougher than the first one!
