The theme for this month's challenge: "A Song of Ice and Fire / A Game of Thrones":

  

A Song of Ice and Fire / A Game of Thrones: Content inspired by both the book series and tv show. Everything from equipment and armor of the Seven Kingdom such as the Armor of the Kingsguard and Greater Houses, Master Chains, the Helmet of the Hound, or Eddard's blade Ice; tilesets to replicate Kingslanding and the Wall; clothing options of the westerosi and foreign fashion; creatures such as the Whitewalkers and Others; placeables like the Iron Throne, the carved map table of Dragonstone, the green flames of the Wildfire, or the corpses of the aftermath of the RW.

 

This theme was suggested by Snugglehoof.

 

Guidelines:

It must be fully working in game.

Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine.  Just remember that NWN textures must have dimensions in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.).

Teamwork is welcome.

Beginners most welcome. Don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!

"Custom Content" includes many sorts of things: models, scripts, prefabs (areas, items, creatures, conversations, quests, etc.), sounds, portraits, or anything else new for the game.

All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to NWNCCCMakers@gmail.com (or a non-Vault link provided) by July 1st, 2015. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;-)

 

 

Somethings you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster:

2da lines needed.

Screenshot from in game for use on the vault page (this also gives me hints on how to display the new goodie). Formats: .bmp, .jpg, .png, or .tga

Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. Placeables and monsters should include a portrait.

Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.

Any credits you would like listed.

If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).

Also if you would like an invite to the CC Makers group, send Rolo Kipp a friend invite. The group is nothing spectacular, mostly just documentation on 2da lines.

 

Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity, and surprise!

As I have not read any of the novels or seen the TV series (i.e. I know nothing whatsoever about this), I will not be submitting anything for this particular ccc. Here in the UK the TV series is only available on Satellite/Cable TV, neither of which I receive. If what I have heard on the grapevine is true I probably wouldn't be interested anyway, as from what I've heard there is just too much Politics and not enough action for my tastes (but then again I loved Babylon 5 and there was loads of Politics in that).

There is a good amount of GoT and SoIaF content in other games' custom content, most notably Mount and Blade Warband, though I'm unsure of the feasibility of converting these assets to NWN.

 

It's also worth mentioning that Mount and Blade and MaB Warband both have much better helmet and realistic armor assets than NWN currently has even with a lot of CC.

TR, one wonders to which grapevine you listen... I find the TV show has more action than it probably needs. The books are a pretty good balance. There is the politics, but there is plenty of action. Too bad he's not capable of finishing it. We'll have to see what comes from HBO's writing of the ending I think, as it seems likely they are going to get there before GRRM does.

Will somebody be making a set of White Walkers? Perhaps a tile set of The Wall or some Watcher outfits? How about some house banners? A model of Brienne of Tarth would be pretty nice.

As with Tarot, I've not read any of the books (didn't know there was more than one, actually) or seen the television series since everything I've heard about it sounded entirely uninteresting, so I'm afraid I'm out for this month... which is probably just as well as I'm still trying to catch up with Kali and things after my mother's rubbish hospitalization kind've distracted me of late...

As I am not doing anything for this month's ccc I am going to take the opportunity to update a couple of my older personal things on the vault. One to version 2 and the other to (insanely) version 3. Should be making an announcement sometime this week.

@PHoD - I also want to communicate you my best wishes for your mother.

@PHoD & TR - I, neither, have read the books; But I have been following the TV serie except for the last 5th season which I haven't seen yet. And I consider It as a quite interesting story. It's a mature story not based in good guys and bad guys. Instead it's based on characters with complex personalities, who seek their own goals. And Yes, Politics and conspirations are everywhere. However I see it as a good point of the plot; This don't mean, as meaglyn have said, that there isn't plenty of action....

If you have never read the books or watched the show well then you can find some of the first shows on the internet and watch it for free. After the first 2 or 3 you will know what the world and people look like.

You may well be able to watch via the inet, but only if you have unlimited inet access. I have a download limit of 10 gig per month. So that rules that out for me. Anyway, you need to keep up to date with the story in order to know what things are unique to that world otherwise why have a specific topic. Generic things for generic topics and special/unique things for a specific setting.

 

Having said that I hope that someone does make something for this month's topic. Don't want another Steampunk (only 4 things made in total).

*sigh* Not a dribbling fan, of books or the TV (have limited exposure to both), but I've never been short of ideas when there's a call for it.

 

 

 

1. Heraldic stuff (shields, flags, etc) of all the main Houses and possibly some of the faiths.

 

2. The ancient trees with faces - Heart trees, I think.

 

3. Models of White Walkers (tall, slender, wight-like things with glowing blue eyes), Children of the Forest (small elfin creatures - a cross between hobbits, elves and pixies, from what I gathered), perhaps Jon Snow's white dire wolf. Also possibly some specific characters, Tyrion (a handsome blonde human dwarf), Danearis (a young human female with white hair and violet eyes, dressed in 'eastern' fashion), Jon Snow (a black-haired handsome young human clad in black), Arya Stark (a young-ish (10-11) girl dressed as a boy) & possibly others.

 

4. Specific weapons - the Needle and Longclaw, blade weapons form obsidian perhaps some others.

 

Dragon eggs we already have, I think.

 

5. A 3-eyed raven and also possibly ravens that can fly, land, and sit on a character's arm (will probably be an anim/clothing option or something).

 

I'll try to think of more, but will have to brush up on GoT lore a bit.

A 3-eyed version of my raven familiar VFX shouldn't be too difficult. Do you have any reference pics?

 

I'm not sure what we're talking about re the weapons or heart-trees, though I'm interested in them both. Possibly a modified version of my ghoul model with the glowing eyes I did for 3RM for the White Walkers, if I recall their description correctly (been about 15 years since I read the books, don't remember 3-eyed ravens).

 

Anyway, I'll make a GoT version of the raven if I get some nice piccies here :-)

I just wanted to drop in and apologize that I am not creating content for the challenge I suggested. I very much intended to make tabbard options, cloaks, banners and shields for this challenge when I suggested it several months back. But I have moved on from Neverwinter Nights to Shards Online a while back now.
