With the recent (temporary?) class chests I'd like to take full advantage of them, and of the latest victory and personal challenge chests.

But my total earned gold is ~95k, 180 prestige points, so my average chest drops are kinda bad.

What is the best way of boosting your item score?

P.S: with such stats I got 1 dragon weapon on peril, too bad is was a longsword.

As far as I know there is but one way:  open chests, get items.

Is it dependant on gold spent or gold earned?

Because in latter case I'd rather just save all my gold, to buy some weekend chests.

And I think it is overall a good idea, to buy only weekend chests, as they provide better stuff.

Not on gold earned as far as I know.  But, to the extent that gold spent equates to getting more items when buying chests, yes.  Items found in treasure rooms add to your count too so opening treasure room chests can be helpful.

Not saying it's exactly how it works, but from what I could gather...

  • Every chest you open in-game increase your chest score. Doesn't matter if it's gold or items, as long as you open the chest. I'm not sure opening a chest in Routine, Threatening or Perilous increase chest score with a different value or not.
  • Every chest you buy in the store increase your chest score. Pretty sure a Large chest increase your chest score more than a Small chest, otherwise people would cheat the system to get better items faster.
  • I have no idea if the Commendation chest or Victory chest increase your chest score. My guess is it does count since you "worked" for it...
  • Gold in itself has nothing to do with your chest score, you really need to open a chest either in-game or in the store.

You also tend to get better items out of weekend specialty chests they have been implementing. So perhaps save all week and see if they have added anything on the weekend you can buy.

Thanks for the useful info!

"Guaranteed rare" got me some 16 level purples from weekend chests, still using my "Staff of Dynamo" of 19 level.

But yes, the chests are kinda better way of getting the purple rings, and, probably, overall better way of spending gold.

To clarify, the chest score is 'items looted'. So any items you get from opening chests purchased from the store or opened in a dungeon or items dropped from the dragon count towards this. The top tier item bucket begins at 1300 items looted. You will hit this bucket give or take around 300k gold spent.

Is there any way to tell what your current level is? Or do you just have to assume you're in the top tier based on the amount of gold earned/spent?

Keep saving your gold and do perilous dragons if you're able to, then spend your gold when they do decent chests again. I'm waiting for those class chest to come back, they were the only decent chests I've come across so far.

I thought this weekends cloth chest was also great. I've been trying to get 12 of any cotton type for a month now without succes. I bought 6 or 7 cloth chests and now have 12 of all 3 cotton types.
