About 1 month ago, i asked on the forum what dlc is worth the price for ME3,and someone told me that From Ashes and Leviathan. The problem is i would love to have them all because i like the story so much, and i want as much as possible from it,plus i've heard about The Arrival from ME2 which kinda tides up the story with ME3.What i'm asking is,are there any sales on the DLC's? like ever? they are way too expensive, i hate how they butchered the game with all these little parts, the only series i absolutely love! Sometimes i think i should just play it without them and get the Extended cut which is free,it's been like 8 months since i finished ME2!

Off topic: Wow, a post in the me3 section that's actually about me3 for a change and not about me4.

And not screaming about the endings. Whoah. Take a breath of fresh air.
Of course, wait for it.... Wait, wait....
EDIT : On topic, I loved ME3, so I just went ahead and bought all the content packs. I didn't buy the costume packs, even though a couple'a of them included guns.

Originally (2007- 2013) I bought the games on Xbox360, including all the DLC's.
Last year, I gave and purchased the Trilogy on PC. I almost have all the PC DLC's for all 3 games purchased now.
I'm pleased to feed my custom mods "need" and won't go back to console for any RPG game in future.
IMHO, it's worth purchasing all the games with all the DLC's if you love MEU.

Almost. I pre-ordered, and if you'll remember back, the first DLC came with that. The one with Javik. And no, this isn't the time to re-hash whether that was a good idea or not. So, almost. It was a fun game, even back then.

I did. Personally, I think DLCs (except Citadel) are so well-crafted that the game feel as missing something without them. From Ashes and Leviathan help a great deal with explaining and hinting the ending, Omega is a side quest that should've been in the game in the first place. Citadel is quite weird in the context of the main story, though it is quite a lot of fun
The game is still fun without them but it's more fun with DLCs installed ![]()

Citadel is the only way to get the Supressor pistol, which is so powerful, it turned out to be nearly the only weapon I equipped everyone with that could carry a pistol. Citadel also has all the camaraderie and humor that the trilogy should have had.

I got everything single thing on PS3 and then got every single thing on PC... except Omega. I don't like not having my squad with me and am no fan of Aria. I only played through it once I think. I'd definitely spend the few dollars/pounds/euros it costs to upgrade to the N7 Collectors Edition. You get From Ashes, some alternate appearances and few other treats. The Alternate appearances provide unique bonuses to squad members that you can't get with their other outfits:
EDI +25% Shields (with defense matrix, decoy and specced for shields she will never go down)
Kaidan +25% Weapon Damage or Shields (same as EDI but already has higher health/shields or assault rifle + specced for weapon damage he does as much damage as a soldier)
Ashley +25% Power Cooldown - this would be useful if marksman wasn't bugged.
Tali +25% Weapon Damage - actually does some damage with a shotgun.

Why should the trilogy have had schlocky humor and camaraderie?

It's still worth playing, even without the DLC. Though if you can get Leviathan and From Ashes. Javik is an interesting character and Leviathan is easily the most significant DLC. I'd avoid Citadel. I found it's tone to be off and not fit with the rest of the game.

With all the self-references and throwbacks, it sums up ME, adding weight and progress to Shepard's relationships. Citadel adds some of the most touching companion scenes, an interesting hub, and a quirky plot. I'd personally suggest to save it all until right before the last mission or right after, I think the tone adds the 'sweet' to the somewhat bitter ending.

I first played without any DLCs (not even EC). I already liked it without the DLCs, but then I was lucky and they were all on sale for PS3 the week I finished ME3 (earlier this year), so I got all of them at once. I'd recommend all (my least fav is Omega DLC though, for the reasons mrjack stated), and even though Citadel does feel a bit disconnected from the rest of the story and game's tone, it was something I really needed afterwards
If you enjoy character interactions and silly fun, go for it.
Or, why not play without them at first and then check out a bit of youtube videos to see if they'd be to your liking?

Why should the trilogy have had schlocky humor and camaraderie?
Citadel is super cheesy but fun I guess. I never found the ME series to be particularly funny and the so called "in jokes" aren't always obvious to even seasoned players unless they're explained. For example (this is in the main game) Garrus and the calibration stuff. I'd played through the series several times and not really pick up on the fact Garrus always says the same thing in ME2 when you exhaust his conversation options. Once he said the same thing twice I left him alone. It wasn't until I came to the forums and people mentioned clicking on him over and over again hoping for more conversation that the "calibration" thing made sense... kinda.

"Worth" is a very subjective word
- in my opinion it would be "worth" to play the whole ME-trilogy without DLC if you are not really catched by the story. If it is for you just another SciFi-Blah-story-whatever-saving-the-universe-bullshit than you dont need the DLCs and playing through the whole trilogy is a nice shooter-experience.
But... if the story DOES catch you... the story-DLCs make the trilogy MUCH deeper und the experience is in my opinion much more intensive with all the story-DLCs.
I really like the story and therefor I really like the story-DLCs. And although some are not so deep like others I would miss every one of them. But I played every part of the trilogy at least 6 times. And I still will play the trilogy in future... maybe once a year or maybe after two years. In my opinion nobody can tell you how much you will like the DLCs and if you would think the price is still fair. But I do think, what Bioware is doing with the DLC-price for the PC is a desaster. They give me the feeling that I have to REALLY look EXACTLY over every future stuff they will produce, cause if I like it somehow but not very much I could have LONG years of doubt wether I should pay the whole price even for a 6-year-old-DLC.
In other words: I really dont see what Bioware is doing there and why they dont sell a GOTY-edition of ME2 and ME3 including all DLCs. This behaviour lets me put a rather large distance to all bioware-products in future. E.G. I bought Dragon Age: Origins in a GOTY and I didnt like it very much. Stopped playing after about 15 hours. And as long as I dont see them changing their PC-pricing I do forbid me to play it again, cause I dont want to like it that much, that I would like to play the second part of it - which of course I would like to do with all story-DLCs... what would be to expensive in my opinion for such an "old" game.
So... in my case they LOSE money by keeping up this price-decision for PC. And... they have to really overwhelm me with the next ME to jump over that doubt for the next ME.

Waiting for ME DLC sales can take awhile. I'd suggest waiting for E3 and seeing if a Remaster is announced, which will include all the DLC. If it isn't and you have the money, spring for the DLC. Otherwise, an ME3 playthrough without DLC and with the Extended Cut is still worth it, though definitely inferior.
