I think Skyrim had some pretty interesting things in terms of the Dwemer. It was a shame we didn't run into any shades or ghosts in one of the numerous ruins but it's not like they could have told us much about their disappearance. I think Arniel's quest in the Mages Guild is perhaps most telling in terms of what happened to them. Arniel becomes bound to the Dragonborn in a similar way that it's postulated that the Dwemer became bound to the Numidium. It's all pretty esoteric stuff, really, and there exist a number of other possible explanations. I'd like to see it explored in the game but perhaps it's too metaphysical to be easily digestible and presentable.
I think it's one of the things that Bethesda will just leave for the fans to mull over.
Learning about the Falmer was appreciated though. It was cool to see that untainted individuals exist (it was a great and unexpected surprise in Dawnguard), as it was to learn of the horrors inflicted on the majority by the Dwemer (maybe it would better if those folk stayed far way, no?)
I think we'll go deeper into conflict with The Thalmor in ES6. It's not resolved and it would be pretty lame to just abandon that thread in the next game. So, I think Summerset will be a good idea. It also presents the opportunity of interacting with the Maormer in the series proper. Not to mention the Imga and the possibility of the Sload.
Hammerfall could be the place too, given the trademark that was taken years back that we assumed would be for a DLC. Unless it was for ESO but that wouldn't be fun, lol.
