I'd love for a new TES game to come out asap, really. But I have no problems waiting for a year or two. I am drowning in good rpgs right now, and plenty more are coming out soon. 2015 and 2016 will be amazing years for rpg fans. Maybe especially for players who like more old-school rpgs.

Hey, Raw. Have you heard of this RPG: http://en.wikipedia....me:_Deliverance? No magic or monsters, you're just a regular joe in Medieval times. Thought I'd bring it up because not a soul I know has heard of it until I bring it to their attention.

Yes, actually. Saw some bits of info about it this winter, I think. Don't remember much about it, though. I am liking the look of this one.

Found a trailer for it just now.

The one thing that really sucks about this for me is that I know TES VI won't be coming to PS360

By the time TES VI comes out both the 360 and PS3 will be well over a decade old. I know wouldn't want to run the risk of Bethesda trying to make an equal playing field and not pushing the potential at least. That's why I hope Fallout 4 sticks with just current gen and PC. And not even that 8th gen is even that all impressive but at least it [TES VI] wouldn't be restricted by 7th. Just by the pitiful limitations of the 8th gen.

On a side note. The PS3 and 360 were the longest running console generation we've had, and honestly think we will have. It was fun and many a good time was had on both consoles. But they're done now. I think the fact that they had such a long life span has caused people to get used to the idea that consoles stick around for a while. Which historically they haven't. Even the 6th gen really only lasted about 5 years before the 360 and PS3 came out. People need to give it a rest we have about one more year left with the 360 and PS3. It's time to move on.

/end rant.

I'll move on when the "next-gen" shows me something that the last gen couldn't do.

I won't argue that the current gen is lack luster. My point is it's time to drop last gen and move on. Hopefully so we knock out these next 2 gens as quickly as possible. Because as it stands improvements to game quality now a days will not be like what we've seen in the past. I'm of the mind that'll be in smaller increments rather than the jump from say the 4th to 5th gen was. Or even really the 6th to 7th. At least for now. I mean consoles are just now hitting 1080 supposedly, but even then they can't hardly handle it.

I agree that this gen sucks. Everything that comes out seems to be something proven to work (remasters, same formulas, or MMO's made from popular franchises).

The technology was already outdated upon release. I think that this should be the last console gen until there is a very big advancement in technology (20 years, maybe) and a more cost effective way of making video games. It takes way too many units sold for games to be profitable as is and I'm tired and saddened when I see game developers having to shut their doors due to bankruptcy despite selling a few million copies of a game in the first 4 to 6 months of release and still not being profitable or meeting target goals.

If they keep churning out new consoles then return investments are going to be even harder to meet which will lead to games becoming even more safe (sticking to proven formulas, not trying new things) and maybe even a second video game crash. There's no need to rush, they should slow it down and just let people enjoy this generation.

Developers were still pushing the 360 to it's limits and finding new things for it a year ago.

I don't think we need to really rush console gens. But I'll say again, the 7th gen was a long life cycle. Part of that was due to the fact that both the 360 and PS3 were solid pieces of hardware upon release (unlike what we see today). This I think is what gave them such a great life span. I think people got used to the fact that consoles should last a long time relevancy wise. But considering how under-powered the PS4 and XBONE were/are it's foolish to think that we'll get the 8th for that long. If we do... The industry is going to stagnate even more that it already is starting to. And that, in my opinion, will most certainly cause a crash. I'm not saying we need the 9th gen next week or even next year, but what I am saying is I don't think it will be a wise decision to try and keep these going for as long as the 7th was.

There are certainly things that can be done on the 7th gen that hasn't been done yet. But the same thing can be said about the 6th gen. Hell people still develop DreamCast games and a new PS2 game was released last year. But my point is it's time for us to fully move on from the 7th gen.

Personally I can't wait for TES VI.

I love Skyrim. Nearly four years later and it's still one of my favorite go-to games. Not necessarily because of story (well, main quest anyways. The TES lore is actually pretty good in my opinion) but because it's an accessible fantasy sandbox experience.

What I'd like to see:

-Summerset Isles/Valenwood: Oblivion was standard fantasy-fare while Skyrim was a desolate Northern Europe. Morrowind felt completely alien and otherworldly. I'd love to recapture that feeling. As much as I'd like to see Black Marsh/Elsewyr I don't think the devs would go outside the predominantly human/elf norm. Hopefully where it feels less 'gritty' and more colorful and alive.

-One of each race/gender combo for Marriage: I can why Skyrim had mostly Nord options with a smattering of other races. Depending on TES VI's setting I can see it having the predominant race of wherever TES settles in (Hammerfell/Redguards, Valenwood/Bosmer, Summerset Isles/Altmer, etc...) but it'd be cool to see at least 'one of each race/gender' combo in, and the rest whoever they decide. By no means do I expect it to be Bioware level romance (or a dating sim) but if I'm playing a Khajiit, I'd hope for a Khajiit for him/her, same with Argonian, Altmer, and so on.

-Return of Traditional Guilds: I'd like to see the traditional Fighters, Mages and Thieves Guild as well as the Dark Brotherhood.

-More Factions and Guilds: Knight Orders (from Daggerfall), Vampire Clans (from Morrowind) and the Imperial Arena would all be great. It doesn't have to be the same but something similar. Knight Orders can be devoted to different deities, there's always plenty of vampire clans and the Imperial Arena could be some sort of underground fight club, possibly an optional branch in the Fighter's Guild questline. I do think with the Thalmor arc in Skyrim that there will be at least two political factions (one pro-Thalmor, the other some form of rebellion)

-Traditional Character Class/Build creation: Skyrim gave all the races bonuses and a racial power but took away all of the inherent challenges. I liked how some races were geared towards warriors at the cost of being poor mages (Redguards), some powerful mages but incredibly weak (Altmer), and so forth. Also the 'signs' were now standing stones. I liked the challenge that went with choosing a race, class and birthsign, as it determined your playstyle before hand and made you give some thought to your character. Character planning is a major part of the fun in these type of games and I'd hate to see it oversimplified.

-Non-Lethal Combat/Questlines: Perhaps bounty quests in which you arrest the opponent and bring him/her to the authorities? You would get a bonus for bringing them alive. As for how perhaps moves such as being able to hit the enemy with the pommel/hilt of your weapon or disabling magic. How Lethal/Non-Lethal you are could affect your reputation and possibly open up radiant quests.

-Unarmed Perk Tree: For all the unarmed kill cams and potential bonuses it's quite unfortunate Skyrim took away Hand to Hand as an official combat style. Bring it back!

-Polearms (Halberds, Spears, Pollaxes): Pretty much what many fans have been asking for. We were even teased with Dragonborn.

Of course I can see much of this winding up being paid DLC (namely the Knight Orders and Vampire clans, maybe one of the aforementioned weapon styles) but just my thoughts. Either way I can't wait for TES VI, much more than Fallout 4.

I'd like to add a Bard's guild into that mix. Skyrim touched upon that idea a bit, but it could have been much more.

The guild quests are what they do best, though. Those were really cool in Skyrim. Not too short either, really.

I'd love the option to play a prequel type of elder scrolls game and the Dwemer are still around, in addition to Snow Elves. Two more race options!

It's possible some of the Falmer are still around (more commonly known as the 'Snow Elves' in modern Nirn).

Also, I tried to look this up but couldn't find anything in the wiki - wasn't mainland Morrowind basically destroyed? Or am I thinking of a different region?

No; the eruption of Red Mountain ruined a lot of things, but Morrowind hasn't been destroyed, and reconstruction has taken place. The Imperial hold on the region seems to have dissipated (given what was revealed in Dragonborn, particularly how House Hlaalu is no longer one of the Great Houses due to their previous ties to the Empire and it was removed from the Grand Council as a consequence), while House Redoran ended up ousting the Argonian invaders. The ash is still fuming from Red Mountain, however.

You had about five quests per guild in Skyrim, and the Companions quest line was really a joke. The Dark Brotherhood didn't really have the same impact that was present in Oblivion (one of that games strongest elements), and the Thieves guild was rather tedious (in both Oblivion and Skyrim).

From what I recall, the "last of the falmer" were present during one of the quests for Dawnguard, and even then there was only one that was still alive by the end of it.

As for Morrowind, Vvardenfell was completely decimated. The Argonians invaded during the Oblivion crisis (or maybe it was after the war with the Dominion), and when the Dunmer turned to the Empire for help the Empire didn't offer any which caused Morrowind to secede from th proe Empire. Since Hlaalu was heavily pro-Empire they were turned into scapegoats primarily by House Redoran. The Telvanni were heavily weakened by the destruction of Vvardenfell, and we never really received enough information about House Indoril to get any real standing on how they are.

I definitely want a return of the guilds.

I know this sounds weird, but I kind of want a return of the skill-building like in Morrowind and Oblivion. Meaning, if you jump around enough, your acrobatics/athletics increases, and suddenly you can jump onto roofs. Or if you heal yourself enough, your restoration skill increases. The perk system was cool and everything too. I wonder if Bethesda could blend the two. Meaning, give you a perk system for more functional things like the ability to sneak without being X% detected, but also give us back the ability to jump and run like a fiend. (I just thought that sh*t was fun.)

I don't want an elder scrolls game to feel *too* tight and polished. There's something about the flawed mechanics that I love. Maybe it's nostalgia, but if I'm going to make my hero sprint at top speed all the time, then I better become faster and faster. ;)

The Dark Brotherhood has to make a return. I always - *always* - join them. Hail Sithis.

Well going by usual Bethesda logic the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim (the last remnants) were both brought back and destroyed.

Oh, and the Emperor may or may not have been killed.

An Imperial Battlemage used /resurrect to bring him back to life...

Yes they were, but i liked that you could actually rebuild them. That is why i always save Cicero. Love that guy, also his creepy voice. Plus the armor set actually looked good compared to Morrowind and Oblivion.

I hope they balance each guild equally tho'

Skyrim had a long, good DB and Thieves Guild questline.

But dropped the ball with the Mages and Fighters.
