Skyrim's balancing and scaling were terrible. Last Dragonborn is a demigod with legendary powers and can easily lose one on one to a nameless bandit wizard. Lolwut?

Enemies in Skyrim either had no health and did no damage, or were damage sponges who could spam endless attacks and did a ton of damage. Oblivion was so much better about it, plus you could drain somebody's magicka or stamina and watch them helplessly do hardly any damage even when they swung greatswords. :D

Not really when you run into bandits wearing full Daedric armor.

The enemy mages in Skyrim were so OP it's not even funny (damn bandit mages running backwards and two-handing ice storms). Even my thief resorted to using a greatsword to kill them!

With Dragonborn DLC it was easy to achieve Spell Absorption 100+%, which meant that instead of losing hitpoints due to enemy spells, you just regenerated mana.

After having that, you wanted enemy mages, because you could spam spells like a machinegun.

Skyrim's not a lot better in that respect. Overall, Oblivion's scaling is much better. If you level efficiently, enemies stand no chance against you. In Skyrim, enemies stand no chance if you abuse sneak, paralysis poisons, the Sanguine Rose and the Become Ethereal shout, but there's really no non-cheap techniques and strategies to defeat higher level enemies.

TESVI needs to bring back the Dwemer

I am surprised that we never ran into one in Skyrim. So many Dwemer ruins and not one to see. There was even one in Morrowind, the last Dwemer as he said himself. Skyrim would have been the perfect place to show them off. Atleast we got the Falmer lore revealed, loved that.

I'd love it if Dwemer were a widespread and playable race, unexplained, out of nowhere. Just so all the lore nuts would blow their minds.

I kinda hope the dwemer stay veiled. Not everything needs to be shown, and it keeps an air of mystery I think.

I'm still not even done with Skyrim, I got it last year but have only put about 30 odd hours into it. Call it nostalgia, but none of them have gripped me quite like Morrowind for some reason. I wonder if it's the fact that Morrowind being less technologically advanced leaves more room for headcanony roleplay.

Not to say I'm not liking Skyrim, I really am. Much better than Oblivion, which I was well into for about two weeks before I decided I hated it. Got sick of then NPCs terrible voice acting and ugly as sin faces, the repetitive landscape (which Skyrim also has, but it's much nicer looking so I don't even mind it), and the world levelling. I mean, a bandit with glass armour... foolishness.

Anyway, I wasn't intending to go on an Oblivion rant, but what I'm most hoping for in 6 is as inventive a landscape as Vvardenfell. Oblivion was pretty much generic 'ye olde' world, and Skyrim's Norse theme is all well and good, but I'd like something more outlandish.

Valenwood or Black Marsh would be the places to go then for outlandish. Especially Black Marsh, considering not very many if any outsiders ever make it inland.

The ghosts were unusually absent in Skyrim.

Well, Black Marsh presents a problem in that only Argonians are able to survive there or something silly like that.

I bet Bethesda forgot they even had Dwemer ghosts.

I think the Dwemer all got taken to a daedric realm of Oblivion and can't get out. Don't know if it will ever be addressed though...

TES protagonists can survive dragons, tentacle rape, dragon-tentacle rape, zombies and lonely old men shouting.

I think we can survive Black Marsh.

For serious...

They totally forgot those Assyrian-looking elven specters.

They got turned into the golden skin of the Numidium, blah blah blah anti-creation singing world refusals blah blah blah...

This is exactly what Elder scroll is all about. Mods that allow you to strip your character naked.

There is that Dwemer dude in Morrowind who talks about it a bit, if I remember right.

I've actually got fingers crossed for Black Marsh. Really though I think it just depends on what they do with it. Any one of the countries could have something really eyecatching about it if the devs design it right.

No game in Black Marsh will make sense or do well when all but one race can even survive in it most of the time, and that race is one of the least popular.
