The latter, probably. :P

Fair enough. Still, if we could send potential planets we know are uninhabited far off in the reaches of space millennia ahead of us, when we do arrive, it could be a hospitable environment that we arrive on, instead of a hostile one. Skip the self-replicating-on-a-planetary-scale part.

This sounds like the plot of the movie Red Planet where they used algae from Earth on Mars to change the atmosphere.....

Only that had side effects in that bugs transplanted from Earth hitched a ride there and started eating everything including the original landers and crew.

That sounds like the plot of the manga Terra Formars where they used algae and cockroaches from Earth on Mars to change the atmosphere, only the cockroaches became sapient murderous mutant super roaches with 12 pack abs.

The most wondrous verifiable truth about the cosmos is the knowledge that the atoms that compose life on the earth, the very atoms that create the human body, are identifiable to the vessels that created light elements to heavy ones in their core under intense temperatures and pressures.
Those stars with higher mass than others, went volatile in their later years. They collapsed and then detonated, dispersing their enriched insides across the galaxy, insides made of hydrogen, carbon, thorium, oxygen and all the crucial additives for life itself.

Those elements are a big part of gas clouds that soon compress, collapse, and form the next era of solar systems. Stars with orbiting planets and now those planets have the essence for life itself.

We are a part of this macrocosm, we are in this universe, but more importantly, the universe is in us.
Reflect on that fact and next time you look up into the night sky. Don't feel diminutive, but feel immense because your atoms came from those stars. The level of connectivity becomes even more profound and that's what we all want in life. To feel relevant to the activities and events around us.
And that is exactly what we are, just by being alive.

Also, here are two photos I managed to take with my camera via my telescope.

The moon

Jupiter

Would be better quality, but when I say camera, I mean my Sony Xperia Play's camera cause I'm poor.

I don't know if this or something like this has been posted. I was browsing some old Tested videos and came across this one:

Pretty interesting I thought.

And a little Vice doc on two guys basically DIY building their own space suit(s).

@Devlish, Thank you. I looove star gazing and attempting to take photos of what I find. I need an actual camera though.

@Voxr, and did you know that the toilet on the ISS costs 19 million dollars? The astronauts use the bathroom via a funnel that is attached to a hose and that hose attaches to the suction vacuum that is connected to the toilet. Astronauts says that doing business like that in space can make on feel like their dignity is being damage. However, the egos do not. There are 3 different sizes of the hoses and each astronaut has their own funnel and hose (obviously), but all the males kept picking the biggest hoses lol.

@Prince, yep, between 8pm to about 11pm (for me), Venus is so bright that it looks like a shiny street lamp tbh. Jupiter is my favorite planet in our solar system so I'm glad he's showing himself so well next to Venus. I keep finding places in my area that has low light pollution so I can see even more stuff. I can't wait to take it to the deserts and mountain ranges where you can see the Milky Way with a naked eye. It's beautiful so can you imagine looking at all of that with a telescope?

It's an orgasm to the eyes.

@Johnnie So it's like a reverse catheter? Well suddenly I no longer feel the need to go to space...

What was that Edison quote? "I have not failed 700 times. I have proven 700 ways in which it will not work." Paraphrasing from faded memory but the video reminds me of that.

And I mean we've only been sending rockets into space for the last 58 years. Not really that long in the grand scheme, obviously we have kinks that we can continue to work out.

Venus is hot as f**k like over 730Kelvin (460C). And it's 90soemthing% more dense than the Earth, too much pressure. There may have been life just starting out on it before, but the greenhouse effect took place and it boiled them all to death. *inb4 they find life that thrives in that extreme heat* Venus is a hellhole, literally.

But they say the upper atmosphere high in the clouds is more like Earth around 40 degrees celcius
