That's nothing.

Black holes can shoot gamma burst death rays across galaxies.

True, but our closest neighbor is Andromeda and let's face it our galaxies will collide long before something like that happens.

Man, thinking about the length of time involved in the creation and existence of certain things in space makes me feel like life on Earth is bacteria thats not supposed to be a healthy thing.

Speaking about Andromeda, its where we're gonna be in the next Mass Effect. Wonder if they're gonna give up trying to make sense of the realities of space travel or if they'll try to make it convincing enough.

Haha, what the hell are they thinking?

To be fair they can use space magic travel with relays and such.

This is about as close as I get to contributing to space and the great beyond:

Those who can't do, make pithy comments.

I'm trying to picture what a 6.5 month mission aboard a space station would be like...

Sam always posts pictures of Earth from up there before she goes to sleep. I bet she'll want to be back up there looking at that view again before long.

Speaking about Neil deGrasse Tyson(Director of the Hayden Planetarium), fun fact:

The first telescope I ever had in my life was one that my father got me for Christmas when I was little. He bought it in the Hayden Planetarium gift shop at the American Museum of Natural History(that I've been to like a million times, its awesome. Tyson was the director of it at the time). Mr. Tyson has all the respect in the world from me for that as the Hayden Planetarium is awesome and you're missing out if you don't go there to learn something.

If you want to learn to understand the basic principles of space travel physics and rocket science, Kerbal Space Program is a lot of fun.

I suppose it's not for the easily frustrated though :alien: .  But the thing is that if you just take your time, think, test, and stubbornly solve your problems, you're eventually going places.  :wizard:

Would rather have Zathura the Board Game tbh.

tbh, I'd play a Zathura board game.

on topic: has anyone seen Stephen Hawking's "Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking" documentary series? It's a pretty good series. I think it aired on the History Channel back in 2010. It might be on Netflix, but I'm not really sure, I saw all 3 episodes on Xbox video. The second episode isn't really about space (instead it talks about time and possibility of time travel), but the first and third episodes deal with possible alien life and the history of the universe and space as a whole. The third episode is also notably longer than the first 2, clocking in at a feature-length 90 minutes.

edit: it is not on Netflix. Or, rather, it is available via Netflix's DVD rental service, but not available to stream.
