Hey light form our sun takes 8 minutes to get here. How long for radio signals?
What do you think radio waves are made of?
Also if radio takes 21 minutes from Earth to Mars why can't we put relays around the solar system to speed that up?
Relays aren't going to make radio waves travel faster than light. Maybe they could enhance the signal.

Radio waves are part of the EM spectrum.
Light is made of photons.... A different part of the EM spectrum if I remember right.
My mistake yes relays won't speed things up but they could enhance signal transmission..
What about a solar observatory? If one was orbiting the Sun looking at Earth would we see things from 8 minutes in the past from the probe's POV? Could that kind of thing be useful to anyone?
Also on the nature of First Contact I suspect it won't be actual organic beings but AI probes or ships. Any species that clever would know organic bodies could not make the vast journeys without some way to extend life or long term procreation like a generation ship. Whether these machines will be intelligent enough to react in a civilized manner is another question or if they are just reactionary, reacting to their surroundings in a logical manner.

I don't see how. To convey that information back to Earth would take another 8 minutes. So then you'd have information from 16 minutes ago in Earth time. You could also get information from 16 minutes ago from cameras on Earth.
I could only see the use if you had some way to instantly send an infinitely strong telescope very far away to be able to see millions of years into the Earth's past and then be able to relay that information back to Earth instantly. It requires FTL travel to even consider.

What about the weird effect NASA found with it's supposed warp drive? If it's not a warp drive could it be some kind of subspace pocket? Could we use that kind of thing for FTL communications? or Quantum entanglement

EM Drive.
Yes the EM Drive... Could whatever effect it creates be used to push a signal?

A signal? Not sure. They still need to work on it. http://www.space.com...ngine-nasa.html

Trivia question, what are the names of these two nebulas. Please, no cheating. Tis for the honor of SCIENCE!
Imagine living near the centre of either of those. Imagine the view

The problem with ancient aliens is that they are ancient and all gone...
So people make up all the stuff about them and spout it as fact.

I don't give credence to any of those theories. I do believe that alien life may be out there, but I'll wait till first contact/true evidence that can be verified.

Pretty much this....
But on the other hand I'd like to think and be hopeful that someone helped out people in the past with things like the pyramids and other things. The mathematics for them is just something that I find interesting and that they calculated those structures all by themselves I find amazing.
The Mayans knew all about the solar system and that there are other planets besides ours and that we orbit the sun. Where did they learn this? I'd like to be hopeful and think someone maybe threw them a bone or two in the right direction.

For those who don't know, that moon is Charon, does that sound familiar to you? ![]()
