This video can help you decide:

Granted, I went and got it ASAP :P

I already follow her YouTube channel, but skipped the video after the spoiler warning. Is it safe to watch aftewards with only minor spoilers?

The spoilers she is talking about has nothing to do with the story of the dlc. It's safe to watch up to 2:46

Am I wrong in saying that the line from the video (paraphrased) "It doesn't resolve anything, it raises the questions you never knew you had" is a pretty good summary of the approach they give to the lore?  This felt like the approach in Inquisition in general and truth be told it's my biggest beef with the game.  While I admit I'm pretty curious about what they have to say, if ultimately JoH is going to just be more "look forward to more on this in later games/DLC!", I think I'll save myself the frustration...

Before you go on about that, note that even Dao did something like this. It was years before we got answers to the ending to dao.

I'm not really talking about it filling in the gaps left by the epilogue in this case, more I'm talking about the various curiosities and mysteries of the setting itself.  In that regard, we're still waiting on questions about the ending of Origins.  If all the new points raised are just new puzzles to be speculated on, rather than resolved, then might as well just wait until more stuff comes out and those missing points are actually dealt with (if they ever are).

Hence, my curiosity about what kind of content Jaws of Hakkon actually has.

It explains some Tevinter things, it explains the founding of the Templar order, and for someone like me, it finally explains what the Avvar really are.

I also recommend bringing Cole & Sera; as well as recruiting Amund (Sky Watcher in Fallow Mire) beforehandedly, to get more out of the story.
