Lets discuss why you dont have an ME2 badge under your name, dont tell me your one of 'those' guys?
I actually own ME2 in my origin account but I have no idea why it's not showing here, other than me not playing it in ages. http://i.imgur.com/3fQui7I.jpg

I went ingame (for the first time this week, have been playing Witcher 3
) and got some samples.
Considering how I have very low constitution (13) in comparison to other pro players, I decided to test the difference between damage taken from a melee attack dealt by a red templar in both difficulties. I made sure I had no extra accessories that could give me bonus constitution. I equipped a 200 HP belt though.
As you can see, I take ~111 damage on threatening and ~314 on perilous from a red templar.
In order to make perilous as easy as threatening, I'd effectively need 65% damage reduction. That is equivalent to 140 constitution, either through promoting or with gear stats. In fact, you don't need more than 100 constitution, provided you have a +10 constitution amulet, a +16 constitution armor upgrade and bonus constitution from your tier 3 weapon upgrades (haft, grip, etc.)
TL;DR players with 100+ constitution and good gear soloing perilous is analogous to soloing threatening.
Don't mean to nit pick but on Perilous you seem to be getting hit in the back.

I just noticed that. Let me get more samples

I was using this build before the Skywatcher even had a proper model so clearly all points are moot and I win the thread.
Try to keep it civil if you actually want to 'discuss' something.

Running at enemies and hitting them sounds Fun to me
. That being said, I understand yours and Penguins' point. But a deeper question is: [b]does it matter?[\b]
Of course it matters. People argue and debate over things they are passionate about, so it matters to them. In the greater scheme of things, of course it doesn't, but video games are srs business for a lot of people, just like sports are for example, I don't really care who kicks what into which goal, but I understand that it matters enough to some people that they will happily destroy cities over the outcome of a match.

Lol @ you thinking that the video title is anything other than clickbait. Penguin is a youtube partner, so views and clicks = ad money.
You will be hearing from my lawyer (Yumi) shortly. Copyrighted builds are no joke
On a serious note though, while you are right, try attempting the same build vs praetorians, scions or phantoms, you will have a much much worse time, even with the exact same loadout, indicating that you can't just steamroll everything with one kit.
Oh s**t, I'll check before to post a build from someone else! I'm not taking any responsability if anyone copied it from my HQ! ![]()
of course you can't play the same kit against all the mobs. Kroguard is a sync-kill magnet.
Going back to the OP, I think that DAIMP requires a little bit less skill than ME3MP (not comparing them, just saying) because:
1. It's more gear dependent (nobody uses Inquisition weapons, they're like toothpicks)
2. The mobs are confined in a certain area and they won't move until you disturb them from whatever they do in the meanwhile.
3. Once you know where you can stand waiting for the mobs to come to you, it gets easier.
4. Some characters are more viable at higher difficulties.
This is just my current opinion as a player who's just going to hit the 25 perilous matches with a couple of promotions for each character (except for the new ones).

It was just me and him and I could not keep pace with him at all. I was running the exact same build as him too. I spent most of the game on my fine fine booty.
I never have been good at soloing, I need my meat shields.

Yeah, flank attack was stronger, here's the new pic:

110 from threatening, 305 from perilous from a red templar. Again, I have 13 constitution, no bonus constitution from gear.
To make perilous as easy as threatening, I'd need 63.7% damage reduction, which is equivalent to 138 constitution. This can be easily achieved if you have 100+ constitution, a +10 constitution amulet, a +16 constitution armor upgrade and bonus constitution from various tier 3 wep. upgrades.
I can't test against ranged attacks because I have 33 cunning, but I'd expect that ~140 cunning would negate the extra damage from perilous enemies as well.
I can't say that soloing perilous with good gear is as easy as soloing threatening, but it certainly is close, should you have an absurd amount of promotions.

i think some people here don't really know what they are looking for in this game anymore. let's say bioware eliminates promotions, the only thing people would do then is kite the AI around doors and hallways kill a few rinse and repeat(to put it bluntly and simply) and bam thats how people would solo from then on. so in that sense yea this game takes no skill. what i'm getting at is that promotes hardly matter for that kind of thing. They are the end game motivation and the reason many of you are even playing still. its all about that grind, promotes just make it a little easier for the dedicated. (until a new difficulty comes out and takes away our promotes
)

I just wish promotes were instead like the merit system in Final Fantasy XI. No need for restarting to level 1 but instead get to enjoy your level 20 character and work on perilous with exp gaining for promotions or points to buy new promotion points exclusive passives.
The way it is now I feel like the final skill point you get at 20 is useless to me. Why would I ever spend it if it's all about promoting starting over to level 1. When I see people joining my room at level 20 and not changing to another character or promoting I feel like they are wasting something.

Promotions being broken or a problem is completely overblown on this forum.
Its a grind...takes 100's to 1000's of hours. Not many people are going to break the game for themselves through promotions. And if they do, its their choice...its quite simple, if you don't want crazy promotions don't keep promoting once you reach your sweet spot.
Equipment is much easier to obtain and IMO plays a bigger role. Had OP removed HOK rings, superb stamina amulet and replaced his Dragon Maul with a Legion of the Dead Maul I doubt he would have extracted. EVEN against Demons on the easiest map.

OMG, he used autoattack und his character moves. STOP UASIFNGG MA BUILDDD!!!!!
Get over it. Once you know the basics of this mode, gear and promotions do the work. There is no point in trying to deny this fact.
Just play, have fun and don't go arrogant and insulting on players who ask things. Use your knowledge of mechanics, items etc to help newer players. One should be thankful that some of them show enough interest and ask things to improve.

Regarding promotions:
ME3mp doesn't have any promotions and people right now keep on playing it. It probably has a larger user base today than DAMP does. Once you maxed your manifest in me3mp, you don't get anymore powerful - but players don't seem to mind - they just keep on playing anyways.
So, why does DAMP need a promotion system when ME3mp is so successful without one?

He would then just resort to the aforementioned strategy of kiting around doors, hallways and cover while killing rinse and repeat and if he manages to beat it without HoK would then just say it takes no skill and could be easily replicated (he would be right to an extent). many would agree many would disagree and just like that we are back at square one with people throwing out new suggestions.

I don't think there's ever a RPG that I played where I liked feeling weaker as I went on. Sure I like things being challenging but that's what new content is for. We are still fighting the same stuff we started with, I don't go to a level 24 zone at item level 30 that stomped me before I geared up and think, "wow so these dudes can't handle this jelly. This game is way too easy now." all while item level 35 content exists or something.

different kinds of games, i see DAIMP as more of a diablo 3 type of game. once you have the best kind of gear and are "max" level in these kind of games thats it you are pretty much done no more reason to keep playing since the gameplay usually isn't "deep" enough. whereas ME3 has this satisfaction to the gunplay similar to games like CoD or destiny where people keep playing long after they have attained everything. this is just an observation.
