The attitude of this thread is just as guilty as the attitude of those who are universally put down for commenting on ease of the game when they are OP. Let the game be, stop the comparisons, there are plenty of people enjoying it. Let's be constructive rather than what "Akir388 said I do what I want" or post this thread with the title "proof that it doesn't take skill" it is all very absurd

one thing  DragonRacer I see is that every thread in this forum goes back to ME3MP comparison to DAIMP. let's get over it they are not the same and whole I understand comparisons are good to point out the good and bad and potential direction etc. It just doesn't have to be all the time ....sigh. Skill or not, promote or not these are fine let's just not keep going to another game many people are not playing here.

AO, From a completely scientific standpoint you have not yet proven anything. If you were to use the same account and have someone who has never played the game before and have them do the same thing then you have proven your point.

Instead you are hyperbolizing by saying it requires no skill. If that were true then an octogenarian or chimp could do it with no prior training.

The point you really intend to make is that this game does not require as much skill as mass effect 3. If that is your point them I think you could probably argue that. But the problem is that they are not even the same genre and are not necessarily meant to be as similar as you wish them to be.

What's the real reason for this thread because I can't quite understand your point as it keeps changing between baseless statements, circular reasoning and personal attacks to other BSNers. You've come close to just admitting that this was just a troll thread, so if that's the case just roll with that so we can know not to take it seriously.

The last thing we need is to go back to the way things were in this forum pre DLC.

Did you watch the video? What skill is displayed other than running at enemies and hitting them?

 

Things like animation canceling, enemy prioritization, positioning and a lot of other small decisions that newbie players would fail to make correctly. Penguin's point would be more convincing if he was actually terrible at the game, which I know from personal experience he is not.

I never once implied it was the Mods fault. It is their job to step in when things get really off-topic and to police the forums. That is all I meant. I also never stated you are not entitled to your opinion. Complain all you want. I simply find it amusing that you have singled me out for not being constructive. This thread - how it started, why it started, and its evolution since then - absolutely reminds me of how the ME3MP forums have conducted themselves in the past.

The aim of this video is to prove that you do not need strategy, positioning or any sort of 'skill' providing you have good gear and weapons. This solo is quite literally charging into every group as quickly as possible and spamming abilities. Zero skill or even knowledge of mechanics are needed other than two functional hands.

The entire point of this thread is to prove that with end game gear and good promotions, you can do this. I don't have end game gear or promotions to boot, so no, I won't be making a video.

 

Lol @ you thinking that the video title is anything other than clickbait. Penguin is a youtube partner, so views and clicks = ad money. 

 

Promotions being broken or a problem is completely overblown on this forum. 

 

Its a grind...takes 100's to 1000's of hours. Not many people are going to break the game for themselves through promotions. And if they do, its their choice...its quite simple, if you don't want crazy promotions don't keep promoting once you reach your sweet spot.

 

Equipment is much easier to obtain and IMO plays a bigger role. Had OP removed HOK rings, superb stamina amulet and replaced his Dragon Maul with a Legion of the Dead Maul I doubt he would have extracted. EVEN against Demons on the easiest map.

 

So why is he using them?  If he wants to challenge himself, why is he removing the challenge?

Doesn't seem to be.  It seems to be a solo perilous playthrough that's got some voiceover at the start breaking the shocking exclusive that if you have high-end gear and and enough promotions, the game gets easier.

 

Well since you haven't manage to work it out, ill explain it for you. 

 

The point of the video is that there is zero challenge when you have certain gear/promotions. The point is to demonstrate that fact. The point isn't to demonstrate a challenging solo. Its to demonstrate that none exists once you reach a certain level.

Since this obvious troll thread has gotten so much attention I'm going to shamelessly plug two other youtube/twitch users. Who's videos are ya know, for entertainment and learning rather than pointlessness.

 

When I first started playing DAMP I learned a lot watching unknownbiowarfare's solos. He actually did a really good job with his series. He started soloing routine with every class and eventually got through most of them on Perilous as his gear and promotions improved. His promotions are not godly by any means, and were certainly not high when he completed most of his solos.

 

His builds are his own, and I don't think they are perfect by any means. Keep in mind some are months old at this point. But I think anyone new that wants a couple pointers would find his videos informative. He does a particularly good job avoiding taking damage and using the maps to his advantage.

Another channel with some great vids would be Snakebite_MDK. He's more on the super-high end of the promotion / equipment spectrum. I think its quite clear when you watch his videos its not because he mindlessly let others grind for him that he achieved his stats. Good examples of how to play all the classes effectively are available on his twitch past broadcasts, as well as some pretty funny, ridiculous challenges.

The real point of this thread and the 5+ other ones like this is that Apocalypse_Owl, PenguinFetish, and Drasca are the bestest of friends.  They share an eternal DAMP bond of brotherhood, and they express their love for one another on these forums.
