Fright Night was good at least.
I'd argue better than the original in alot of ways.
Yeah, it wasn't trying to ape the original like so many remakes, but did it's own thing with it and rather well?
I also liked how the mother in the remake wasn't completely clueless and actually listened to her son when he kept telling her not let Jerry in, so she decided not to... forcing Jerry to get around the invitation rule by blowing up the house to force them outside.
Kinda undermined because the trailer spoiled that particular twist, but it was still extremely clever and made a lot of sense within the rules set by the film. Also made me wonder why don't more Vampires do that sort of thing whenever the invite rule happens to apply to them?
