I fit on the definition of SJW and Tumblrist and The Witcher is one of my favorite games and I love CDPR devs. TW 3 is probably GOTY for me, so how about stop generalizing with shitty arguments like "it is the SJW fault".

Then you're not an SJW, you're merely for social justice. There's a difference. A big difference. It's like the difference between a regular every day christian Christian and a young Earth creationist who thinks the world is 6000 years old and was made in 7 days and thinks evolution is a giant false conspiracy by science to undermine religion, or someone who merely thinks the government does sometimes plan some conspiracies here and there and someone who thinks the moon landing was faked and the highest levels of government are controlled by lizard people who use advanced cloaking technology to look human.

I am believe me, I criticize a lot. Especially when it comes to unfair representation, social justice, privilege and so on... the difference is that I can enjoy a game and even praise it and at the same time seeing its flaws.

DA:O is also my favorite game of the three but of course it has, for example transphobic scenes and remarks that I profoundly dislike, this does not stop me from like it of course.

What, the dwarf in drag at the Pearl and Sten telling you that a woman shouldn't try to be a man (in his very Qunari way of saying it)? That's all I can think of.

I am not going to elaborate, this is just a example of me disliking something profoundly and still liking the game.

The argument that people with internet that do cyberfeminism have some kind of divine power to change things is ludicrous, if anything, things change because there is money there to be made out of it.

Ugh... I want to argue, but I'm not going to. I'm not gonna be the one to derail a thread into an SJW-feminist and whether they suck or not argument, this isn't the place.

No, they changed lead in the art department.

Well I said "probably because". I never claimed it was SJW's fault that things derailed.

THe fact that you turn this into something that its not - me saying the bad of DAI happened because of SJW - just detracts me from actually making a more elaborated comment.

If you were to pay attention to my post instead of infering your own ideas from my first phrase, you'd realize what I said actually goes in accordance to your own idea. I said the Witcher couldnt care less if they hurt SJW's ego, and they thrive because/regardless of it.

A shame really. I wish Bioware would just do their thing without concern for social opinion, as they did on the first Dragon Age game and stop listening to sjw who dont even finish the game, and just play it to make sure there's nothing there they can use to throw at Bioware

I am sorry but I cannot take seriously arguments that evoke SJW has some powerful motivator. You clearly are trying to generalize a whole group putting some kind of line in the sand. And I urge you to play TW 3 again, maybe the "SJW" did touch that game more than you think.

You know, I kind of love posters that keep using the term SJW, which has been clearly intended as a slur towards a vague group of people are the "wrong" kind of social commentators, and when people have a negative reaction to someone using that term, are utterly shocked that people would have issues with them using a term they consider a slur. There is just something utterly adorable about it.

As many others have already posted, I also agree that DAI's main problem wasn't that Thedas in it wasn't dark, but rather that they had a very odd approach of telling instead of showing those horrors. This, to me, especially hurt the Orlesian civil war aspect, as they never really bothered with telling that story at all while having everyone mentioning how terrible it was.

I am also in the group that didn't find DAO really that dark, although the Hespith scene was awesome, as it relied a lot on body horror, which to me often comes across as cheap. DA2, in turn, is to me by far the darkest of the series, but it was also a tragedy which used it smaller scale and scope to tell of much mundane horros. So I think the main issue with DAI lacking that darkness it that it is going for the high fantasy so hard while really drilling at the hope and faith theme that it really stumbles when trying to create the darker tones as it doesn't fit with their approach at all while still supposedly still being there. Now I really hope that sentence made any sense to anybody.

Well I'm sorry if I offend anyone by using "SJW" in a post, but what i mean with it, is anyone who thinks some sensible social issue has been raised in a game, and that they have to do something about it, either in form of protest or retaliation or social poisoning, etc. Maybe my concept of sjw is wrong. But by my perceived definition of it, I don't think you are a sjw as you said in previous post. You are probably a social justice concerned person, but by no means you are a warrior, which is a good thing. As you said, you can play a game and appreciate it for what it is, even if some social issues rubbed you the wrong way. But that doesnt mean you're going to fight about it, trying to take down something as a whole, because it did a little thing wrong. You accept it for what it is, a piece of fiction (mind you, take all of what i'm saying in the context of video-games please).

Either way, again i'm sorry if i offended anyone in any way, don't want to drag this further off topic.

"SJWs", "muh grit n'dark", and "Disney" are just BSN's version of "le dank memes".

Apology accepted but I do fight about it, at least I go all out on the criticism even if I enjoy the game and always hope they improve in the future. I never accepted it, it is the opposite but I can enjoy it.

What does this even mean?

They are a collection of terms commonly used to "criticize" DA:I or DA:2, most often in varying combinations. This results in a word salad of memetic buzz-phrases that is utterly devoid of any constructive thought or reasoning, to such an extent that the terms themselves are pretty much self-parody at this point.

Example: "I have it on good authority that SJWs are the reason we now have an 8 slot limit on spells and abilities. Check your keybind privilege!"
