I was just reading the failed game thread and people mentioned most fails typically come from bad objectives. So it got me thinking, what objective/map/location combos do you struggle with the most?

1. Devices/Firebase White/bottom of small ramp next to the landing zone. Seems like this always turns into a revive fest

2. Hack/Giant/center area. There's so many angles the enemies spawn from, I'm guaranteed to use at least 1 gel

I could keep going, but I won't steal them all ;)

London Centre Hacks and Goddess Centre Hack are the by far the worst objectives in the game.

Wave 10 Devices against Cerberus Gold on any map is a disaster waiting to happen especially on Jade.

Any device with pugs can turn into a disaster if they don't have the decency to hurry up and die. Any hack or escort can go titz up if they die to quickly. Then you get scorwhore pug who decides to kill enemies near the box on Rio so they respawn at the LZ while you are delivering pizza.

You really can't win no matter what you do.

Devices - there is atleast one spot on every map where devices can ruin the game. Giant is probably the only exception I can think of. Jade, in particular is notorious for this.

Escorts - Once again, there are escorts on every map that can ruin the game. Especially the ones that go through large open area. Even the 'easy mode' maps like giant and white have some shitty escorts that go through the open area. (the one on white that starts at the back end of the map and goes all the way to near the LZ has ruined many solos for me)

Hacks - The 'easiest' objective in a solo b/c lolglitch and can be a nightmare in team games. Any hack that is in the center of an open map is troublesome - London and Goddess are probably the worst.

Right, almost forgot about that Goddess hack. If I had a choice between that hack or giving birth to a porcupine that is on fire, i'd opt for the second less painful alternative

these two aren't even that bad. You can position yourself for that device to where nothing coming from the hallways can hit you so it's easy as long as enemies aren't climing up onto the landing pad. The Giant center hack has plenty of soft and hard cover to make use of.

I see it as the perfect time to close the door.

On topic, the device on the center crates on Hydra can be awful; the device near the tree and in the courtyard on Jade; devices on wave 10 Glacier...so basically:

Device of doom on Jade is the worst by a long ways. If it is device #2 - 4 to pop, it is undoable without team coordination or lots of luck. It is the only difficult objective on that map (the other device location directly in the lower middle can be bad, but still doable)

Center hack on Goddess and London and the middle lower device on Hydra are the runner ups.

Honorable mention to wave 10 Gold Glacier / Cerberus devices, some of them can get pretty nasty

At least 5 spots I can think of on Glacier that result in a failure 99% of time if you're solo.

Devices really shouldn't be a problem on any map if the team is willing to use rockets. Otherwise it's a toss up.

That's usually the issue. Teammates are typically focusing on two spawn points, and something sneaks in through the third or fourth, whether it's up the ladder or jumping up by the ship. There's usually at least one death until someone whips out rockets.

The Giant hack does have cover, but there's always that one pug that shadows you and draws an Atlas missile or Brute swing.

There is one spot near and facing the main opening from the LZ which can be an absolute nightmare if the enemies are spawning opposite the LZ while Ravagers down the ramp have LoS on you.  It very rarely occurs, but it has caused me to wipe on one occasion as I ran out of time trying to kite them away.

The Jade one is really bad with the wrong team.  The crate of doom on Hydra is really bad even with the right team.  I tend not to mind Goddess so much, but maybe that's just because I'm more concerned with how few frames I have to work with.

The centre of Condor can be pretty tough, but I usually really enjoy it.  Unlike the centre of Rio, which I don't.

In general though, the toughest device placement is the one on the opposite side of the map from the pug who's using missiles.

The LZ hack on Ghost is comparable to those two in the degree of exposure and consequent pain. It doesn't seem to come up very often - I think I've had it twice in my entire career so far - but once you're in there, you don't have the option of running off for a moment to get your breath and shields back.

All that needs is a QMI / Valiant and Krentinel / Claymore, and perhaps a few ops packs to make up for the extra time spent there because the other two pugs died at the start of the wave.  I speak from glorious experience.  Muahahahaha HEADSHOT!  :D

Devices in the bottom area of Dagger are also another revive fest waiting to happen, especially with Cerby turrets

Was going to mention how much I've recently grown to despise escorts right through the heart of Dagger.  The never-ending monkey pile flank-fest that it is.

Maybe I'm a cheap cheating mother fucker but I'll let you guys in on a little secret as soon as I hear last enemy on wave two, five or nine I head for the location of the worst possible hack on that map if I'm the host and glitch it as soon as it drops if I'm playing with pugs. It's kind of like hitting nade boxes while teammates get one or two more kills at the end of the wave, just a better use of my time. It's one of my super secret dick tactics.

I do that also if it's a weak group.

And for the Jade device I always try to make sure I am standing next to that location at the start of 3, 6 and 10. If it pops I can get it done with no trouble

Blocking that spawn on that device might not be a bad idea but objective waves seem to override proximity spawning mechanics at times as well. That device always seems to come up third or last for me.
