Does SWTOR just have a skeleton crew of devs?

As a preferred player, I'm not allowed to register for the official forums, but whenever I see topics about issues that players are having, I see no response from developers whatsoever. And after downloading the patch today... the launcher has been giving me this weird issue.

It's taking a long time. Hours. "Repairing 17 files", it says.

The progress bar increases, but then it shrinks again. I don't know if it's actually doing anything at all.

Uhh no. They just don't talk to fans. Don't blame them tbh.

Eric Musco and Tait Watson seem to be the most active of the devs on the forums. They both have posted in the past 24 hours.

Dunno about the rest.

Try Twitter.

The chances that devs respond towards SWTOR stuff in here is practically zilch, the best you can get here is user help.

Damn it. I think my installation might be completely screwed now. Thank you, "Main Assets 206", a.k.a. update 3.2.1. I don't want to re-install the whole game. Re-downloading God-knows-how-many gigabytes again won't send a suspicious message to my ISP at all, not to mention the days it would take.

Is this the issue you're having? It is pretty common:

Mine doesn't download patches slowly. It just gave me that repair message. The repairing, whatever that does, is slow as hell though. I decided to start it back up and just wait it out. Could take days, I guess. The weird thing is, the log file only mentions two problem files: swtor_main_anim_creature_b_1.tor and swtor_main_art_dynamic_hand_1.tor. The launcher says it has to repair 17. I copied & pasted every "error" line from the log file.

From the experience I have with the game, the launcher is just broken and doesn't work properly most of the time.

Although given that it's a F2P game, I wouldn't be surprised if their focus is more on pumping out new content to make money rather than fixing existing stuff.

I also have to imagine that while the download taking days would suck, it wouldn't look suspicious to an ISP. In 2015 I have to imagine they're all aware of the fact that PC gamers download entire games on a pretty regular basis.
