20th Century Fox is rebooting its 2003 historical fantasy film “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” with John Davis on board to produce through his Davis Entertainment banner.

Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly are overseeing the remake, based on Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s graphic novel of the same name, centering on Victorian-era literary characters such as Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde teaming to fight a common enemy.

What do you guys think? I know, I know: "Ugh Hollywood make something new!" But I might be open to the idea if they stick to the same tone of the GN. And considering the popularity of comic book movies lately it could turn out all right.

On the other hand the '03 movie was smelly and left a bad taste in my mouth. And I can't help but be pessimistic that this one will be too.

And people ask me why I don't even have a TV any longer ... I've seen everything Hollywood produces years ago already.

That movie reminds me of how sorry I feel for Sean Connery.

Because he passed up Star Wars, The Matrix, and Lord of the Rings. And was like "The nexsht part I get offered for a Blockbushter I'm taking it"

I hope this doesn't get made, or flops again.

Alan Moore had a great idea for the first 2 volumes. But Century was just the ramblings of an ignorant old man mindlessly bashing what the kids like.

Moore is a hack.

Well it can't be worse than the original.

I don't know. Part of me is hoping it pulls a Dredd, the other part wants it to stay dead.

Hey, my impression of connery is easier to convey over text than anything else in my range.

No reason to assault women.

I've occasionally overheard people musing that Hollywood may be creatively bankrupt.

I wouldn't know, most recent films seem crap to me, and after watching them I feel like I've eaten a hot dog, without the dog.. just a hollow piece of tasteless bread, shaped vaguely like a hotdog.

There's been a few exceptions over the last five years or so, but on the whole modern movies feel as flimsy as tissue paper to me.

... Oh and I can never hear the dialogue either, as the damned music is so loud and overpowering (Intersteller I'm looking at you!)...

That movie was good enough. It can't be any better with even shinier actors/actresses and more Michael Bay-esque scenes.

Hell. Let some of the actors die first, then remake movies.

Well, I mean, it's not like Alan Moore cares about his works anymore.

If something I had made was adapted into a movie as godawful as Watchmen, I'd become apathetic towards everything too.

I'm slightly deaf in my left ear and I could hear the dialogue in Interstellar just fine.

Get better ears.

Change your speaker/headphone and the equalizers.

You know, I actually thought the original movie was entertaining despite the general negative reviews.

But seriously, why Hollywood, WHY? Have you completely forgotten what original work means? I don't see anything of any subtance anymore, it's either a **** poor remake, a inferior sequel, a brain dead action movie or a unfunny comedy movie. The only thing I care about these days are super hero movies, at least they have some level of substance, wit and charisma. No kidding, apart from the growing super hero genre, Hollywood looks pretty much dead.

been rumoured for a few years mind same as Button man but if it works..

Keep Mina as team leader and we will see. driector needs to watch a load of old Avengers (60s Steed and Peel one.) to get the feel.

if they eant to keep it true to sorce they will need to give no ****s about outrage.

reading the TPBs there is a load of sex and nudity.

There's no way the insanity that is that comic can be properly adapted to the screen.

Imitating Sean Connery is the only way I can reliably have an accent from the UK.

Damn the UK for having entertaining accents!
