I can solve this mystery, using my god-like skills of deduction.

1) Yallegro posted in response to the OP with an apparent thinly veiled accusation of cheating.

2) Spin-Orbit mistakenly thought he was replying to him, and explained why they may have never pugged together.

3) Yallegrothemad posted an uncharacteristically angry reply.

4) Spin-Orbit was confused at this seemingly random attack, and called Yallegro an idiot.

5) Angry_Elcor launches a surprise attack on Pearl Harbour.

6) War were declared. Feelings were hurt.

7) Gya, an angry, alcoholic ex-cop turned PI with too much time on his hands, is hired by no-one to investigate a situation that nobody cares about.

8) Mystery solved.

hmm I am not sonofbarak. you are off European servers and he and I are in us servers. I never see you or many who are on European servers either. If you have problems with leaderboarders that is your issue but don't jump to conclusions

Because I have no idea why he thought Yallegro was talking to him, or why he thought Yallegro had a problem with the leaderboards. In fact, the above post honestly makes no sense in context or out.

What random attack are you talking about? Where was this attack that he was responding to? He said:

He's not referring to an attack. He's saying he doesn't understand Yallegro, and saying that Yallegro sounds like an idiot. Frankly, it reads an awful lot like an unprovoked insult.

Seems to me like I'm asking him why he's attacking someone else. I didn't, for example, say he "sounds like an idiot." Are you saying you really consider me to be launching some surprise attack when I'm asking about why he's being hostile to someone that I don't even know?

 

If asking someone why they are being hostile to people for no apparent reason hurts their feelings, so be it. If you consider questioning the need for random hostility to strangers in a forum to be a declaration of war, that is your prerogative.

To your first point, yes, I was referring to that post. Perhaps I'm reading into it something that wasn't there, but it seemed to be referring to the fact that Yallegro doesn't see many leaderboarders in the game, so how did they get onto the leaderboard? That's why I said "apparent". If that wasn't the intention of that post, then i apologise Yallegro.

However, saying "what the hell are you talking about" isn't a particularly polite way of asking for clarification. A simple " I was talking to the OP" would have been much more effective.

And yes, calling someone an idiot is rather impolite, I'm not condoning that response. It all escalated rather quickly. And pointlessly.

As for you attacking him, I wasn't being particularly serious about that, but there is some context to this. You two have a history of disagreeing. This is the internet, after all, there's a lot of drama. Either way, it was not intended as a criticism.

 

I wasn't aware that I had a history of disagreeing with him. I only remember one conversation with him before, under quite similar circumstances (hence why I asked him if it was his "thing.") Either way, Yallegro was definitely not to blame.
