Hey i think it will be nice, add an icon with the prestige number and it shouldnt take 2 much effort. Also i dont think it will have a negative effects since you got some clue of players prestige by the banners + titles + profile icon they are using anyhow. But this way you can see the difference btw the top tier players and also be able to compare your prestige to others, like a little extra motivation for promoting, and its an extra minor addition to competition.
Add an option to see prestige of other people in the lobby?

it would suck for those that didn't have prestige, banners, titles, etc. they might get kicked outright without getting a chance.....

I personally wouldn´t care too much about prestige shown in the lobby, but I´d love to see the loadout of others, like in me3.
Since someone with high prestige can still have horrible luck with RNGesus, or someone new can have gotten incredibly lucky, only showing the prestige might lead to what Rundagutz said.

This is something that, while not a priority, I'd like to know. . .at least in regards to abilities. I like to know the general method my teammates will be using so I can adapt. (and as a regular at ye old Pug, you never know what you'll come across.)

Method and pug used in the same sentence, never thought I´d see that ![]()
Tbh, I woulnd´t care too much about abilities either, since I´ve seen plenty of Keepers with higher levels never using barrier, not even on themselves, while faceplanting all the time.....

Hmm well i suggested the prestige thingie because i think it should be a very simple addition although who knows... and i dont think it will add to the chance of you being kicked more then having no banner, low level etc... ( but it might prevent some kicks on the other hand )
About the loadout/ spells layout hmm you wont be able to adjust to much because you allready got your build set up and i dont think seeing a loadout will do much to helping you decide which items to take ( much more then knowing which classes comming with you ), also must people dont even got the option of items to choose from ^^.
Now about it allowing you to examine what gear other people using thats nice i guess, i always up for seeing builds and gear of others simply because it can help players to learn faster. But adding such feature is alot more complex and it will also add to the chances you will get kicked, people who dont have good gear...

Except half my Prestige points come from steamrolling Routine for Weekend Challenges. It's not as much of an indicator as ME3. But displaying promotions and equipment would be a good idea.
Except it won't happen because BioWare have turned into a bunch of soft c*ck hippies. They don't want us excluding anyone. Even if they are attempting to leech on Perilous with three promotions and a Raider Greatsword. This is a direct result of schools awarding participation trophies.

I won't pretend I know anything about coding beyond 'if X is true, then this happens'.
But I like to think I have some understanding of the nature of man, and man likes to do things to each other based on initial appearances. The more information you give, the more they will judge, and too much information in a short period of time clutters things.. And they are always wary of strangers.
People kick based on class-to-level ratios as they kick based on banners, titles, portraits and the lack thereof. If given the information, they would kick based on prestige, weapons, active abilities, rings, yadda yadda.
Now, not everyone would, I've found random pug groups to generally be friendlier than a public group with three friends/acqaintances snickering at the stranger who enters their domain. *Makes self a pariah on BSN for this*
Having access to some information would be useful, too much would be a waste of time/resources in comparison to exponentially more important things and is largely unneeded. No one needs to know which rings, belt, and amlet you are using and which attachments you have selected to which armor while being able to check what attachments and rune you have on *gasps for air* whichever weapon it is you are holding in your hand while they are also checking that you have the 'right' potions on your belt while also looking *gasps for air* at your banner, portrait, and title and then that little prestige meter which means next to nothing.
In summary of that thing up there: I'm not saying having extra information is a bad thing, but it should be genuinely helpful information and not an excessive amount of it. Prestige means nothing in comparison to active abilities, which give insight into player strategy. Everything else you could find out about the character would be more useful than prestige. . .except for their current gold amount I suppose, all that would tell you is how much they have.

I think it would be a nice feature and informative as well. Prestige directly correlates to experience and promotions. In D3 you have paragon level, and its always nice to know something about who you are playing with from newbies to vets. Whats the shame in displaying it whether you are new or not?

Prestige and Loadout displayed in lobby should have been part of this game from Day 1, as it was the case of ME3.

Indirect. Challenges are a large portion of prestige too.

This, totally this above is true. Also partly why you don't have access to character information. The damage formula is a convoluted mess that is largely not suited to easy modeling and quick mental calculations. People will judge, and also judge incorrectly, leading to more trouble than its worth releasing info.

Don't really care about prestige ever being shown in-lobby.
Seeing weapons on your teammates might be nice, but I think being able to see what spells/abilities they have equipped would be even better.

Or just go with comprehensive dossiers on each player. Psych reports, I.Q. and that sort of thing.

I think adding this would help competent players with good gear and many promotions not getting kicked from public threatening lobbies at lvl 1. New players don't understand what the banners/titles mean in terms of time played, but the score is very easy to understand for everyone.

I'd be for it. I've been kicked for bringing a lev 1 into threatening (lev 1 Isabella is still pretty boss folks).
Would't mind being able to change color of armor either...like ME3. Literally just use the SP version of this.
Would like to see loadouts/abilities...not for me as I have seen all of the weapons and items. This would be great for newer players though so they can see what is out there.
Wouldn't mind seeing the leaderboard expanded a bit too...maybe top 250? A bunch of challenges are based on 250 (character completions, zone completions, etc), leaderboard should be 250 as well. I'm not in the top 100, but I'd like to see where I am at out of curiosity. This would also be good for newer players who like to see themselves on the leaderboard and can get there easier.

Maybe instead of being able to look at the characters loadouts, be able to look at the party like you can if you go into the item screen so you can recognize the weapons and armor everyone has equipped, some of them have very recognizable models (LoTG for example). That wouldn't for sure prove anything but it would be another piece of the puzzle.
Tier 1 armor, unrecognizable weapon, low/no badge/banner/title. All the little clues.
