Is making a new GT and starting over worth it? Did it get you more excited and enthusiastic to play? As a son of a Pyro, I like to ask the burning questions. But should I retire my already legendary GT (for scrubbery and the best hosting evaaa) and start anew? Let me know.

I don't know about Xbox but once I maxed one account on pc starting a new one felt like it kept me on my toes more, it can be fun to have to work with less, and I still get to play the maxed account when I want.

I got two Xbox accounts, and Live is free for a month. It was 'totally worth it' to drop into a Gold lobby with my N7 1 level 1 AA and outscore the **** out some 'hardcore' PUGz.

It's actually kinda fun starting over fresh, and it gives you a new appreciation for how much of the score is skill and how much is having level IV ammo and maxed gear and weapons.

Maxed stuff makes quite a big difference.

 

You won't need a new copy of the game, but you will need to download all the DLC again under your new account. You would need to set up a new XBL Gold account and pay the fee, yes. You could just get one month and see if you are enjoying it. Or you could do what I did and make the experience totally fresh by getting the PC version. In that case you'd need to buy the game (it's about $10 on Origin ATM) but there are no online fees.

it's fun until you get garbage for unlocks. got to krogan warlords in a row and have no intention of running sentinels on said account. it's fun to play otherwise.

 

I have 3 alts, got lucky on most of them with unlocks but my current one is really screwing me and is starting to become unfun.

Some good points here, Overall it is quite rewarding starting a new account, although you will be very limited in what you can use early for Gold.

 

I would reinforce the point Marksmad makes; you quickly realize how much of a crutch an advanced manifest is (as well as only having 2 gels and ops). I think this has helped me become much better tbh

 

And Pint brings up the flip side, it can get annoying grinding for credits when your first few 99k packs yield stuff like a Sniper Thermal Scope while the only sniper rifle you have is a Mantis I. Personally, I find going for reserve packs is the best bet for the first couple 99K packs.
