Let a player back out of a match where they're stuck in the loading screen since bioware was too lazy to offer this? There really should have been an option after 30 seconds to quit trying to load in instead of the forced do I feel lucky mini game. The fact it's faster to close the game and relaunch than wait for an involuntary boot is absurd. Bonus points if we aren't wrongfully stripped of our consumables for a match that never got to happen.

 

Edit: Yes I know modding a multiplayer game isn't the most ethically sound option, but (for the rationalization inherent in human nature) I don't see how having the option to say okay this is taking too long let me leave instead of waiting for the AFK kick should derail the game or hurt the team rather it should help since that opens up the slot for someone who can connect to come in.

Let Origin go offline, then you'll see the good ol' "You have lost connnection to Mass Effect 3 server" thingy, go online, reconnect again and play like a boss, this way you won't have to restart the game.

Alternatively, if you're lazy you can wait 2 minutes for the "unable to connect" message to pop up.

Restarting ME3 is much faster though. 10secs to get to the main menu, tops.

Alt+Tab out, then attempt to join a different friend's game. This will take you to the character selection screen, from where you can cancel, taking you to the main menu.

Probably not that much faster than just Alt+f4ing though.

EDIT: Or you could just join their game, I guess...but that would be weird, I think. I mean, who does that?

I use the CC on loading screens and type down: open entrymenu and it takes me right back to the main menu screen.

For a wireless connection, put a little tinfoil hat over your wi-fi antenna, wait untill "lost connection" then take it off

Nope. The game isn't scripted in a very accessible way for menu control afaik.
