I honestly think it would have solved a lot of the problems seen throughout the series.
Think about it..
If someone had offered Jory a hit maybe 10 minutes before the joining he might still be alive. Clearly the Wardens are going about this joining ritual all wrong, courage doesn't necessarily get you through it and I think Jory reaction is the most honest reaction of them all. Poor Jory, what might have been had he just taken a whiff.
If Gregor had Irving put Jowen a Cannabis and Exercise routine he wouldn't have had time to fool around with Lilly, because he'd high, and tired all the time, wouldn't time to listen to her scheming and been made tranquil with no problem. Which leads me to my next idea.
What if the tranquil were given weed to smoke? This could probably break the tranquility. I mean people say they sometimes remember and get emotional about all the things they've done or seen in life when they get high, usually it leans toward the more positive happier experiences some say but i mean its a flood of emotion right? maybe that's how they cure it as is.
The Chantry should have used weed to control the templars, instead of Lyrium, the side effects are far less harmful to the templars, and they wouldn't have to cut the Dwarvens in on a share of the profits because it could be easily produced on the surface. So more money for the chantry, easier to control Templars, with a lot less harmful side effects like Lyrium withdrawal and insanity to deal with all around.
All the Darkspawn want is to eat, mate, and fight, thats normal by some cultures standards, so if it was a big problem they should have introduced weed to the Darkspawn. They'd still be hungry but they'd not care nearly as much about sex and a violence, cause they'd be to mellowed out.
Going back to the Chantry and the distribution of weed to the Templars, Meredith really really needed to get high. I mean red lyrium had her seeing blood magic/mages everywhere, if Orsino had offered her a blast she'd likely have simmered down, and realized that life is to short to be concerning herself with every little thing the mages do, so long as they only do it to themselves.
Carver out of all of Hawke's companions was the one who needed to loosen up the most, all this little brother issues he has would have seemed smaller or silly had Merrill offered him some of that Elf Root she was clearly smoking.
Hawke wouldn't have to worry about expeditions into the deep road that could potentially kill his or her last sibling, had he or she just sold weed every day. Imagine a game where you instead try to outsmart Aveline and her guardsman, and distribute your product. Running from the guards and rival gangs, wild horse horse chases, spell and arrow fights in dark alleys, all in a dragon age setting.
Not sure how it could have helped in Inquisition, I mean, I don't think there is enough weed in the world to make that situation look better.
Of all the important people in Dragon Age I think the following either secretly got high or needed to get high.
1.) Flemeth, she was clearly always high. Her insight into the matters of the world was clearly drug induced. I honestly believe she had cannabis induced clairvoyance.
2.) Merrill, her plans, her line of reasoning, everything about the way she spoke to how she looked around when idle suggested she was high most of the time.
3.) Cassandra, needed to get high if only because I'd love to her try to make funny sex poetry.
.... im officially out of my mind right now. ![]()
