I personally doubt that it was introduced thanks to MP. I just think the current system could use a lot more improving.

To be clear, I know that DAO and DA2 had it's problems, but I liked DAO and especially DA2's magic / healing mechanic. They could have used a little tweaking imo but DAI needs a lot of love for me to be okay with the current system.

Exactly. DA2 made healing less overpowered because it introduced cooldowns to potions, as well as long cooldowns for spells. Why not continue in that direction instead of completely removing the mechanic?

Because it was still designed to balance mob waves of enemies, they complete changed that system so they had to change the mechanic also

Not really. Sure, certain kinds of balance work better for certain aspects of gameplay, but some (like cooldowns) are pretty universal. Besides, I asked why didn't continue in that direction. Meaning: Balancing healing instead of removing it. If the combat mechanics change, change the balance style too. Removing it is not the ideal solution.

I know we had waves in DA2, but it didn't honestly feel that much different in DAI.

Pretty sure potions had cooldowns in Origins.

But they didn't remove it, or atleast fully removed it depending on people

Yea Origins had cooldowns for them too, DA2 had ridiculous cooldowns for them but also had 2 other health potions to counteract them

So you fought wave after waves of enemies in DAI like in DA2?

I felt the same way.

Basic health poultices had maybe 1-second cooldowns, I think. Or 5? Something tiny.

We're talking about healing magic, not healing period. So yeah, with the exception of a focus ability for one spec, it's gone.

In DA2 there was one healing spell plus revive, everything else was exclusive to Spirit Healer

In DAI there's one healing spell that's a focus ability (that also fully heals allies and revives fallen companions) Plus the revive spell.

Outside of Spirit Healer not being a specialization in DAI, which imo shouldn't be a factor in this it's pretty even in terms of healing magic

Edit: I should also add I do think regular healing can come back but worked differently

I think DA2 improved the healing bit when t introduced cooldowns. I mean. It should take time to swallow the potions and for the potions to start getting into your system.

I really like all abilities in DAI, spells and talents.
As I said, I miss some spells / talents and I hope to see back in a big DAI expansion.
DAI team is competent and we know that is possible.
I like regeneration potion, healing mist and jar of bees. I hope that they keep these items.
Virtuoso has a regain health ability. It would be a great addition in single player as specialization or even an ability tree.
Bioware, add more ability trees, please!

Well I doubt they'll add more ability trees to the SP since we're not getting a big expansion

But the fact that they're trying out things like that with Virtuoso and possibly more future characters shows that they didn't rule out healing magic period

The healing mist is actually way out there. Since it doesn't heal enemies, it means the potion is intelligent, and heals people that for some reason happen to be allied with whoever throws the bottle.

Are we really trying to argue gameplay mechanics?

I was sort of wary of the lack of healing magic at first since that's what I meanly relied on in earlier games, but the potions seemed to work well enough for my liking. If I miss anything it's the ability to do spell combos with magic.

Only when it goes completely against the lore. It is way better when things really makes sense, no?

Thirty thousand posts and you don't know the answer to this question is always "Yes"?

No big expansion? Is confirmed?

They can add new abilities even in existent trees. Health regeneration can be added in Spirit.

It's not necessary to add a lot of abilities, just some :)

It's cool, but we can't craft these items outside the camp.

Sadly yes

I suppose that's possible, if they don't then it's a high chance of coming back in the next game

So no expansion for DA:I?

Any news on some story based DLC, or is that over and done with too?

Darrah said in a Twitter conversation today that more single-player content is coming. This jibes with various other rumblings.

Not in a rush to get more stuff for DA:I at this point. I am drowning in rpgs I haven't played through yet. It is shameful.

No big expansion? Is confirmed?

Confirmed in the sense that they had no plans for it. But everyone has different opinions about what exactly qualifies as an expansion, because it's more or less a meaningless descriptive of a DLC that is subjectively "large". JoH could easily be called an expansion depending on your definition. So I don't really care if they say we won't get one, because that's really vague.
