I was cusious how you go about building your Jedi(s).  I have tried a couple of ways, one being complimentray like starting out a Scoundrel for the non-combat skills then choosing a Knight for their combat skills.  I've also tried to "specialize" going with Scoundrel/Sentinel, Soldier/Knight, and Scout/Consular.

I've found both ways fun and enjoyable, usually prefering to choose a combination that gives me a good selection of combat/non-combat skills as primaries.

How about you?

Scoundrel and Jedi Guardian is a good combination. I am more fond of Scout/Sentinel

I do a scout and then jedi guardian, however I don't level the scout past level 4, I go to level 4 and get the level 2 implant and stop there and i don't level again till dantooine.

True, but those "Scout Skills" will be 1 pointers the rest of the game, should you want to improve them.

I susually also do not take my Scouts past level 4, for the same reason :)

I personally prefer Scoundrel/Consular builds. Anytime you freeze some one in stasis or stun/disable them in anyway you get Sneak Attacks. :D

I've always started pure Soldier for 8 levels, then I usually would choose Jedi Guardian. Nothing can beat a Jedi Guardian with maxed Power Attack and Force Speed. 4 attacks per round, almost all land and deal 50-60 damage each by the end of the game. Malak dies in two hits on Hard... A couple of times I leveled Soldier only to 2 and then the rest - Jedi Guardian; but it is kind of pointless, extreme degree of power leveling, since even with a regular transition to Jedi classes at level 9 the character is way overpowered.

I usually start with Scoundrel, and then I play around with the result. Often it depends on what color I want one of my lightsabers to be (I dual-wield), rather than what skills and stats I get out of it. I think my last run had a Counsular, which I'm probably likely to go with as a default.

I usually go Soldier/Guardian because it fits my style the best (in your face melee combat). In my latest save though, I decided to make a character that is based off of Yoda. He is a Soldier who I am going to change to a Consular when the time comes. He never carries around a weapon and only pulls it out when he has to fight. He always try to help people through non-violent means. When he becomes a Jedi, I am going to give him a Short Lightsaber. He will only use it though when fighting Sith or other similarly powered enemies. Everyone else, he will just use FP against. Oh yeah, here are his stats:

STR - 10

DEX - 14

CON - 8

INT - 10

WIS - 16

CHA - 16

As you can see, I put a good deal of thought into this. Hahaha.

I'm trying something different this time.

Scout/Sentinel, but I am using a save editor to bring my attributes to 14 and all skills to 4.  I am also granting the first level in several feats.

HOWEVER, I will not level up unless I am in dire straits (i.e. no medpacks/low health/etc.) or when I obtain a new companion.  Oh, and I will level up ONCE for the sake of obtaining my Jedi class.

The idea here is that I've lost my memories, but not my powers/abilities.  I may have a legendary start, but I'll likely struggle mid-late game.

I think the strongest character I've made had this combination:

Soldier/Jedi Consular

The best of two worlds. Great damage output with both the lightsaber and the Force. Great defense against Force powered enemies. You'll always keep your party alive due to the powerful healing ability. The other party members can always take care of tasks that require particular skills.

When I played, I think I went Male Scout, Consular, Light Side, no romance.

Did have fun on Rakata by dark side slaughtering my companions, but I reloaded :)

I tend to try to be a mix of:

1)Healing, but not necessarily spam healer

2)Somewhat durable, but being tanky isn't required

3)Some really cool Force abilities, but strong enough to normal lightsaber attack when I feel like being lazy

Companions I brought along the most: Carth, Jolee, HK-47, Bastila.

A typical party had at least 2 of these 4 along.

Companions I brought along the least: Mission, Zaalbar, T3-M4, Canderous, Juhani (primarily because I killed her on Dantooine; I was a new RPG playing kid!)

A typical party might have had 1 of these along, but not necessarily, and unlikely to have 2.

I did this, too, just to see what the Darkside Robes were like.  I felt so bad I could not finish that charaxcter and started all over :)

From what I recall, I've taken two runs at this game, one light side, one dark side.

I think the light sider was a scout/sentinel, and I've got a feeling the dark sider might have been a consular, though I'm not certain. All I remember is that he didn't complete the game, because he got his arse handed to him towards the end. Canderous and HK-47 just couldn't provide enough support. The light sider finished the game though.

I've just started another run, after not playing in years, as a scout, but I'm not particularly comfortable with it. I might borrow the above suggestion of soldier/consular and restart. Sounds like it might be fun.

The majority of my characters were Soldier/Guardian with heavy armor, main-hand vibrosword and off-hand lightsaber.  Plus some token Force Choke / Force Wave of course.

Over the course of my life I've probably played through 7 or 8 times.  Mostly took Carth, Bastila, Jolee, and HK47 with me.  ...I think I've only seen the Darkside ending once through all that.

Scout, then Jedi Consular. With emphasis on Wisdom and Dexterity.

My stats are usually close to this.

STR: 10
DEX: 14
CON: 8
INT: 12
WIS: 16
CHA: 14

SW:KotOR 2 is a continuation of the first game.  You get to tell one NPC (Atton) how "the Revan story" went (girl or guy, light or dark side, etc.).  The second story picks up where the first game left off.

It is definitely not a "must play in order" kind of deal, but I think it does help :)
