I have noticed in this game that if you ever so slightly go on elevated terrain (Stairs/alters/hills/or inferstructure blocking your area slightly) that the barrier will sometimes act as if it were an offensive type spell and try to cast at or nearby monsters causing the caster to either miscast, or adjust. (If you play keeper you probably know that at times, you need your barrier to cast instantly on spot in order to save a life and adjusting can sometimes lead to deaths or massive damage taken.)

Now this is only one issue with the barrier.  Lets look at the fact that sometimes, spells that require you to double tap in order to cast will sometimes make you jump canceling said spell and causing massive losses at times.  This compounds the issue greatly.  So what does one do to adjust to both of these issues?  Well, lets take a look.

Lets say, we adjust the said barrier to maybe be a cast on self when skill is used by player, and increase the range to that of or near that of the Virtuoso's range on his songs.  So the increase radius strengthens your keeper, but eliminating the ability to cast at range adjust this said advantage to be balanced.  Now said issues above are fixed indefinitely.  You will no longer accidently jump up in the air when casting, and you won't have the issue of terrain effecting where your barrier is casted.

All in all I say this is a balanced approach to the issue at hand.  I know i'll get arguements from keepers that like to be able to cast far away on their party members, but its an easy fix, by adjusting how your party runs with your keeper to that of how you would with a virtuoso, by hugging the support or staying nearby.. (Although I always play with the party hugging the keeper at all times anyhow.

Also, can we get on of the control sticks to have a Support call to the party to let everyone know your casting your abilities on the party.  Sometimes in pick up groups, we do not mike communicate and I think this would be helpful.  Maybe make it glow blue above the heads when calling.

Edited.  Meant that when skill is used that it cast on self and those around you and didn't mean auto cast.
