I was livid when people actually protested when I made Erimond a Tranquil. Being the Inquisitor, our choices mattered of course but the consequences were headaches for the advisers. I think having it more like Awakening would have been fun! I had to really think through some choices there so the riot didn't end up with dead people in front of my Keep.

I think the Tranquil option should be available to any one that unlocked  arcane knowledge

Agreed. And being a Mage was the only way to grant it, but why? Why would a Mage request it when it's something most would rather choose death over than go through it? I can see anyone other than a Mage suggesting it. Plus it's the only way to make the guy lose his cool. He's too smug about his other choices.

I used it with my mage on those that I felt still had some use but would pose a risk still being a mage like Alexisious and the Vint mage from the wardens. both have great skill but are to untrustworthy as mages to be left alone so better to take away their weapon and make it so they are loyal. I think having it for non mages to choose would have opened the game up to more responses like mages fears the inquisition for doing it

It would have certainly made it more interesting! Sadly my poor Mage was still attacked for making someone tranquil because no other option would have guaranteed safety for both Fereldan and Orlais. Josie had to fan the flames for me.

On the other hand, who actually wants to play a game where you do nothing but read reports, sign off on forms, and clean up other people's ****-ups?

You don't need to have a LOT of this to bring home the point.  Terry Prattchett's Guards series within the Discworld generally start off with two little vignettes that set the stage--one where Vimes almost gets assassinated (which gives a quick view of the general political status of the city), and then one when he first gets to the guardhouse and experiences the Stupid Problem Of The Day which sets the stage for later developments.  You can do a LOT with this sort of thing.

Personally I would have enjoyed "solving" some bickering by, metaphorically, threatening to cut the baby in half and watching all the advisers blink in horror.  It would have been a great scene and explained why they didn't bring administrative problems to you later on.  Yes, the Inquisitor WILL solve the problem.  But "solve" is defined VERY broadly.

In Dragon Age Inquisition, I like the freedom for the user to accept or refuse an ally. It's a great feeling of liberty. However, it's still not enough. Because the allies personalities are already defined, carved in stone.

In Dragon Age 4, the user should be able to define himself the personality, the political views, the sex and the looks of his allies.

For instance, Vivienne could be a man (Vivien), if the user wants to, pro-Chantry or anti-Chantry, pro-Circle or anti-Circle, black or white, long-haired or short-haired...

Or, if the user has to recruit a dwarf for example, he will be free to choose between 20 or 10 profiles, each of them with different political views, personalities and so on.

If only being a dick was within our range of choices in DAI. XD
