The Pirate Queen has run in to a snag with her qun-powder supplier and it has affected the damage output of some of her ranged attacks. Broadsides and Bolt are taking a damage nerf while Gangway! is getting a small damage boost
Broadsides (Duelist)
  • Damage reduced from 400% to 300%
Bolt (Duelist)
  • Damage reduced from 200% to 150%
Gangway! (Duelist)
  • Damage increased from 150% to 200%

Return of the King

One ability to rule them all.
Spirit Blade will be getting (yet another) change in an effort to make the ability useful without making it the only ability Cillian needs.
Spirit Blade (Arcane Warrior)
  • Cost reduced from 20 to 5
  • Damage reduced from 300% to 150%

You guys fail to place the add the class challenges in a timely manner, then fail to retroactively apply the games played, now you nerf the duelist to top it off. Classic.

Broadsides was an "instakill everything in the room" sort of move. I hope its not useless now though.

Ouch those nerf to the duelist definitely kinda hurt. I thought we were supposed to get a new difficulty? Our kits are getting weaker :(

It cost now 5... And does 150% damage...

It costed 20 and does 300% damage...

 

So now you can swing it four times for a total of 600% damage instead of once for 300%...

I was playing with duelist just now unaware of the nerf and felt something definitely was wrong with her. Lo and behold the nerf hammer has struck and the nerf is pretty substantial.

And worse barrier generation and more times in front of RTC, Pride Demon or revenant. Yeah sure. I was using it barely before, now I guess it's just a lightsaber thing to deflect arrows and fireball.

Well this is certainly a lacklaster week of changes. i sure hope you're ramping up for something big. I'm also really glad that I didn't care too much about Isabella to be sad about these nerfs. Still not going to use spirit blade on Cillian. You still don't understand that spirit blade isn't what makes him OP, or maybe you do and don't care  :D

Except the time it takes to swing hasn't been reduced. Taking longer to kill things mean buff/debuffs will wear off, other enemies will come in, etc.

I'm kind of curious what the rational behind this change is.  I was under the impression that the more powerful but costly spirit blade needed a weakness ability + restorative veil to spam constantly, so it already was useful without being the only ability needed.  I'm thinking that the greatly reduced damage is going to make spamming fade cloak with gathering storm pretty much always a better choice than using spirit blade (plus a slower fade cloak).

 

Off-topic: that message was difficult to type--the editor kept rearranging where the quote was.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Daaaamn, Luke... That hit to Broadsides is a bit harsh for a first pass on an ability we can't slot a ring on to compensate if we want to focus on that ability.

Broadsides' cost/cooldown should also be changed if it's getting nerfed so hard...
