Who do you find to be the most influential character in the series thus far?  I personally love Admiral Hackett and Admiral Anderson.  And Liara, how she went from a naive little girl to being an incompetent shadow broker and effectively knowing how to work a pistol.

You can include whomever you'd like.

Also, The Illusive Man, man he really did shape the galaxy and had a big part in a lot of the events in ME.

TIM without a doubt. Has his hands in way more things than should be logistically possible given Cerberus resources and can bring people back from the dead. I'm not even sure if Shep has him beat.

Whoever the Dalatras was that approved uplifting the Krogan.

Or whoever ordered to create the Genophage.

Thought about that as well.

For all time in the universe, I would have to say the Leviathan that created the Catalyst. He doomed the galaxy to a plot so awful you could eradicate the Leviathans and it still wouldn't be enough.

The Catalyst and the Reapers. Everything our cycle has is a direct result of their influence.

Shepard. His influence is enough to convince TIM to kill himself, Catalyst to kill himself (indirectly), Leviathans - to join the war after billion+ years of hiding, make "peace" between krogans and turians, quarians and geth.

Powell.  For without his penchant for naps, the Mass Effect universe wouldn't exist.

What about Jenkins? If not for his death, Ash wouldn't have joined the team, wouldn't accidentally activate the beacon (in my game) and cause Shepard to pull her away getting the visions in the process ;)

Aside from Shepard and his/her squad, I think Saren or TIM would be the most suitable answer. Harbinger or the Leviathan are also pretty reasonable answers.

Anderson. He told Shepard to blast the reapers into oblivion, and Shepard followed those orders, no matter the collateral damage.

I know that everybody's gonna argue with me, but...    Aria.

Aria's Omega was such a monumental shift away from everything (except for The Killing), including Star wars, that it just made me instantly fall in love with the character.  Her speech when we first met her was just awesome.  "But you need more.  Everybody needs more.  And eventually, they all end up here."

Notice how she does say more of what, though.  More drugs?  More information?  More assassins?  More thugs?  More of the lowlife scum looking to make a quick buck?'  That is the side of ME that I love to see.  And while she may not be the most influential, she's definitely the deadliest.

In other words, she brings out the evil in me.  And I'm okay with that.

The Stargazer. Without Grandpa telling the story to the child, we wouldn't have had any of those stories in the games to play.

"Influential" in what sense? To the player (Shepard) or the galaxy as a whole?

Influential to Shepard, or me personally, I would pick Anderson. Many a time has he set my path straight (I've even set him straight a few times)

Influential to the galaxy, I would pick Shepard.

She's definitely an influence for me personally, and sets the stage for the overall game. Along with a good example of how much Bioware stepped up their graphics and direction. All of her camera work was great. And I feel almost as bummed out as her in ME3... hanging around all the uptight Citadel and Alliance stuff again. She thought she was in hell. So did I.

I don't know how influential she is to the galaxy though.
