I just cant justify 15k as all i need are purple crit dmg , cooldown , and hp accessories with all the other stuff out there my chances of getting just one of these are prob like 1 in a 100. so ...yea when are the class chests coming back heh.

 

 

edit : also i assume the superb hp belt is in thedefensive one?

Works for me though.  I like being able to buy the stuff instead of taking the time to grind.  Time is the limiting constraint, money not as much.

Dragon weapons are the best weapons in the game, and they don't even drop from loot chests.

 

The class chests last week gave us a chance at purple accessories or many different purple weapons, which are completely useless for the most part because of dragon weapons.

 

The chests this week give us a chance at nothing but purple accessories eliminating all the useless purple weapons we don't actually need. 

 

So before you hate these chests at 15,000 gold. Think about the chance of actually getting a purple in the regular chests. Then think about the chance of that purple actually being an accessory. Then think about the chance that it's an accessory you actually are looking for.

 

These chests eliminate the first two issues.

so you get a chest that has 1 accessory that will be good but can be crap or one you already have.  Another item.  A rune. 4 potions or grenades.

 

and you pay 15,000 gold for that?

This is coming from someone who has played this game quite a bit.  I have NEVER got 1 purple heal on kill ring.  I have NEVER got the purple cooldown amulet. I was pretty high on the leaderboards back when I played.

With my luck, it'll be that awesome little 2% HoK gray card ring I got trolled with the other day, just because the store really felt like giving me the finger on that accessory.

The main problem is if you opened a lot of the agent chests last weekend, you got a bunch of superb accessories anyway. Well those of us in the "top bucket" anyway.

Last weekend I got every purple belt possible, stamina and Cooldown and every stat amulet, and 1-2 of each superb ring. (Not to mention 1 of every single ability ring which takes up a huge frick all amount of my inventory).

Wouldn't mind a second HoK though.

Problem is, if agents chests return, I can just as easily get superb accessories through those chests, while getting top tier weapons as well.

I might waste $50 of platinum on this to see what happens though.

Getting a high chance at the highest tier armor upgrades is nothing to sneeze at though.

I only had Dragon Maul thanks to the dragon reward chest before the class chests, and I was trying warrior chests for a Sulevin Blade which I later got in a large chest. I liked the class chests a lot and they didn't cost anywhere near 15k. I may have gotten more accessories out of the class chest that I will out of these chests.

 

Class chests netted me:

 

x1 Superb Ring of Live-Drain (very early, maybe second chest).
x2 Superb Ring of Critical Damage (maybe 3, I remember wishing I had 3 fingers on something useful)
x1 Superb Ring of Guard Penetration
x1 Superb Ring of Sundering
x1 Superb Amulet of Cunning
x1 Superb Amulet of Constitution
x1 Superb Amulet of Strength
x1 Superb Belt of Melee Defense
x1 Superb Belt of Electrical Resistance

 

Oh I also got 1 or 2 awesome armor upgrades too 16 cunning medium armor upgrade and I think a 18% healing bonus (I think) upgrade on heavy armor.

 

People also still feel the Caliban sword is worth using over the dragon sword, and other shields over Dragon shields. Maybe even one of the bows over Dragon Bow.

From challenge/victory chests and last week class chests I got 3 purple HoK rings and I already had two of these. Also purple stamina and cool down. The only accessory I don't have is purple belt of health. So, IMHO, for me, there is no point in buying these new overpriced chests. But for somebody who lacks a lot while being already at about 1500 bucket, it might seem like a good deal.

 

Also, no platinum might mean no more MP DLCs and no more Lukes' balance tweaks as well as probably longer wait for the patches.

Opened 1, purple HoK. Set complete. Worth the 15k to me. A little over 2 hours to grind out a 1 in 16 chance isnt too bad in my opinion.

And on top of that the developers knew the actual ratios for rarity, accessories, and weapons when they created these chests.

 

I have faith they made the odds for purple accessories in relation to gold spent equal or better in these chests than the class chests.

I just bought two. I got super belt of health, superb amulet of cunning and enhanced cooldown modifier. Not bad, not bad. Thanks bioware but i had them already.

Before people decide to dump all of their gold in these extremely overpriced chests, just remember that a new patch is coming soon. With the new patch, I would expect many of the Jaws of Hakkon weapons and accessories to be available.

 

The weapons from the dlc are extremely good. A few of the accessories are as well.

 

This is a really smart move that Bioware has has taken in the last couple of weeks. They are leeching the last remaining value out of these items that will soon be second tier. Heck, I bought platinum last week too. These chests are a little too steep though. I understand bleeding a product for all its value, but these prices take it to the extreme. They want no one to have any gold left when the dlc patch drops.

 

Their hope is obviously to drain us for everything, and when the new stuff comes out, we will spend again to get the new stuff.

 

I'm not being a player hater here, it's a smart move by their part. I for one think I will try to keep some gold stashed in my back pocket. I might buy one or two of these chests this week, but after that, I'll be saving for the dlc stuff.

What my post was about is that the class chests were very worth it even for people that didn't want a weapon, and people still do want weapons that aren't dragon weapons. Recently Bioware made accessories drop more in chests and it was likely you would get a unique accessory in those class chests. Is that clearer?

 

I could just use 2,400 or whatever it was for the chest, and get something good or not, but high chance something good, or 15,000 for an all in on hoping it's not a dupe or bad accessory. In my list were many accessories I wouldn't use. Maybe only the Life Leech and crit damage rings. All of that bleh gear outside of it though. And the price on the accessories box has those things + chance at blue accessories competing with the few good accessories.

I played the game for seven months with only 1 Superb HOK in chests purchased with over 1M worth of gold.

Last week I received three (3) 10% HOK Superb rings over 14 Warrior chests.

This week-ends chests are over priced for gold, but reasonably priced in Platinum to make you want to buy Platinum with your real fiat currency - please don't.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE BIOWARE MONEY MONSTER.

If you do and society crumbles, you will only have yourself to blame.

There is no guarantee that agent chests will be only 2400 gold like last time.  They could easily jack up the price to make you pay platinum again.  If they see the $$$ in doing high gold / low platinum chests.. I could see it continuing for awhile.

The price seems fine to me i spent 75k and got a +16 cunning rogue armor piece and my 2nd superb hok.  /dance

 

The loot give away in last month has been crazy.  Like jebediahjenkins said above they must have something in the works.

 

Hopefully the new stuff if there is,is actually unique and not just plain purple items with higher attack and hok.
