The price seems fine to me i spent 75k and got a +16 cunning rogue armor piece and my 2nd superb hok. /dance
75k = 62 large chests. Considering that anyone with 15k to throw away is likely to receive duplicates, it's a stupid price.

Think back to what the loot system was before Luke made changes to the loot tables. Those were dark days. Especially because the most important items, BiS weapons, were exclusive to chests and couldn't be farmed while slaying dragons. You can get a BiS weapon on your first day of playing DAMP now, if you're lucky.
We were begging for a chest like this months ago. Last weekend spoiled everyone. The cost/reward for last weekend's Agent chest was game-breaking when compared with what 2400 gold would have netted back in March/April.
Lets try not to get too entitled.
To confirm, I just bought 4 of each chest. If you have lots of superb accessories, don't get the chest. I got all dupes. Class chests were a way better bet for finishing your superb accessory manifest, with a chance at sick weapons. From challenge/victory chests and last week class chests I got 3 purple HoK rings and I already had two of these. Also purple stamina and cool down. The only accessory I don't have is purple belt of health. So, IMHO, for me, there is no point in buying these new overpriced chests. But for somebody who lacks a lot while being already at about 1500 bucket, it might seem like a good deal.
Also, no platinum might mean no more MP DLCs and no more Lukes' balance tweaks as well as probably longer wait for the patches.
Aw shucks I'm blushing. Thanks for taking the big risks for science Yumi.

Last weekends chest is what DAIMP chest SHOULD have been from the get go. maybe they could have released them every weekend. yea compared to the original crappy chest these are insane and "gamebreaking" but i think that's just a testament to how bad our original chest and loot system really was.

When I quit playing months ago yes a big part of it was the minimal amount of content there, but the biggest reason was the terrible chest/loot system this game has. It felt pointless. I hadn't played this game for months up until last weekend. It's not that I feel entitled. It's that the system is so bad it makes playing the game a chore for many people and it feels like there is no point.
I don't feel entitled at all. I feel like there a reason to play the game. I will play until I have 50-100k and I will quit again until those chests come back. If they don't then neither will I.
I'll just stick to ME MP for that.
I'm really sad to see that people pay real money for randomized chests on a game. We are going to have to get used to this because if its makes $$$ then its coming back. I just SERIOUSLY hope that this system isn't in place in the next ME. I learned with DAI to never preorder a Bioware game again...but to put this system into that game? Ugh....I love ME and I want to see it get better. I want to get the next ME and I want to like it even more than I liked ME3.
Can we just have the class chests back? Forever? *sigh* That would do more to fix the loot system than anything so far. Most players aren't going to buy any chests that are 15000 coins. If they were cheaper, you'd encourage me to play. As it is, it's too much for me to bother saving up
6 Large chests with no idea what Unique if any will show up vs 1 Jewelry Box that can guarantee some rarity and narrow down the pool selection?
I'll take that deal.
For the naysayers, how many Large chests would you be willing to swap for these improved odds?
There is just too many "bad" accessories to justify spending the equivalent of about 20 threatening matches on one chest.
This doesn't even account for duplicates you don't need, etc.
Take the belts for example. The only belt of real value is the health belt. Sure the resistance belts are OK against the dragons, but even then I may give the nod to the health belt.
As far as rings go, the ability ring drops are worse than rune drops use to be. I don't know about anyone else but, I have every possible ability ring there is, and have collected duplicates many time over,.... If I see another ability ring, I might throw up. So we have Crit chance, heal on kill, crit damage, and ... yeah that's about it. Still it's better than the belt situation.
As far as amulets go, the cunning, dexterity, willpower, etc are good starting out, after that it's cooldown reduction or stamina.
The point is, there is far more things that have little value vs things that do have value, to put that kind of price tag on these chests.
I need the belt of health, so I feel like I'm at the roulette table. (I have every other superb belt but the health belt, go figure,...)

This is how I feel in a way. Last weekend I was hooked, I was playing to try my chance at a good enough chest chance. I played a ton until it was gone. I even wondered if I should have watched Game of Thrones when it aired, or check it after the chests were gone. Witcher 3 surely lost the battle vs chest farming. Getting promotions and gold for a good shot at worthy loot felt great and rewarding, even if I had a 16 chest losing streak like Yumi did if I recall correctly. All in all I don't think I opened more than 25 -30 chests, but I got high end stuff which is a lot more satisfying than the low level whites and blues. Sure it was a superb belt of electrical resistance, or superb ring of guard penetration, but at least it wasn't a Qunari Shield or lower than starter weapons white staff.
I just opened a Protector box and got a Superb Ring of Guard Penetration. How is this a defensive item? Why isn't this in the Attacker box? I feel misled and want my money back.
I got one worthwhile thing (Sup Cooldown Aml) out of last weeks chests out of about 25-30 chests
Opened one defender chest (I saved up the last couple of days just in case) got my 2nd Sup HoK ring

Unless you need a Rune, just go for Protector for the armor upgrade chance. Everything else is the same for items, potions are offense or defense. After last week this Offense vs Defense chest thing could be a bit confusing. The only thing that separate them are the rune, armor upgrade items, and consumables.
Jewelry Box of the Assaulter = 1 accessory that's guaranteed rare or unique, another accessory that's common rare or unique. 1 Rune. 4 Grenades.Jewelry Box of the Protector) = 1 accessory that's guaranteed rare or unique, another accessory that's common rare or unique. 1 Armor Upgrade. 4 Resistance Potions.Chances of getting a HoK ring from those Jewelry chests is 1:16 if you're in the top chest bucket.Priced at 15,000 gold. The costs of chests are determined by the drop rate of the items inside. Accessory's are super rare, thus a chest that guarantees them is expensive.

Count me in that list. Last weekend, my girlfriend and I scrambled to get as many of those chests as we could. They brought more life into the game, and a feeling that you might actually get rewarded for playing. Not that they're gone, well... there is no way I'm going to play 20 threatening games to get one of these new chests.
Its not guaranteed unique. Guaranteed rare. Sounds like at terrible deal (even with guaranteed unique).

Hah yep, all I have now are promoting and saving gold for the future. I'm not all that thrilled about promoting, and who knows how much gold will be worth for future chests. All of the changes to the characters were pretty much nerfs. I don't even remember the name of the ability that got abuff for Duelist.

I got the same wonderful ring 10 minutes ago on my third protector box. Now we just need enemies with more than 40 armor to use it \o/
And +1 for the last week end frenzy on chest openings, it was fun.
Never mind new players. Don't test your luck. The item bucket level demon with crush you without mercy. Its not guaranteed unique. Guaranteed rare. Sounds like at terrible deal (even with guaranteed unique).

If you have >~312k gold spent you are in the top bucket.
I have 498k.... RNG must really have forgot about me (i'm kinda used to it by now, u know warframe, destiny, borderlands, dead island, my luck is the same on all of them. RNGesus is an evil god to me)
The uncertainty kinda ruins the fun a little bit, it would be great to know where exactly one stands in the loot hierarchy. Are purples only unlocked after a certain level? Are there itemlevel caps in place somewhere? If these weekend chests are only offering the good stuff to the people that invested even more hours into the game: welp, that's the design decision and I have to live with it. But I'd at least like to _know for sure_, please take that into consideration.
Thank you.
Ok, i can GuARANTEE you that purples are NOT locked, you can still gain them but the odds shouldn't be as high as someone on the top bucket, still, that doesn't prevent you from getting them. For exemple, i have 498k spent and i've been playing with a friend that hasn't even unlocked any emblem/title/picture yet (idk how much he has spent, but it's pretty low) and we've been doing some missions together (i dragged his keeper to a perilious dragon run). He managed to get the avvar and isabela, the dragon greatsword(lvl24) another lvl24 dragon weapon and some other stuff, while i have got only one dragon weapon and no other significant loot, maybe it doesn't seem like much but these're the drops i could remember. He's lucky. I'm not. He has a low "loot level", i don't. It's quite saddening........

If loot was that easy wouldn't you lose part of the interest in the game? Doesn't matter what you say, DAMP is at least loot driven, people crave and work for some items, even if it's just a chance for them. Some get lucky, some don't, but if that didn't happen rare items wouldn't be rare, and "unique" would be just a name and a color. There would be no achievement feeling when you got your first dragon weapon, things would just be commom with a little different flavor. The system isn't fair, but it doesn't have to be. Still, it sucks, and i know that very well(i'm on the bad side of RNG). But it's a necessary evil nevertheless.
I may be very wrong, as i am not a game designer and the knowledge i have is from my assumptions. Feel free to disagree, that's just my view. (also, sorry for my bad grammer/vocabulary, i'm not very good at english).
People that have all of the dragon weapons still hunt them if they don't have perfect base damage. Luckily the other stats aren't random.
