If anything my luck stat has gotten much worse since those pesky chests last weekend.

I too am in the golden bucket area.

Can we just have the class chests back? Forever? *sigh* That would do more to fix the loot system than anything so far. Most players aren't going to buy any chests that are 15000 coins. If they were cheaper, you'd encourage me to play. As it is, it's too much for me to bother saving up

If they made it permanet then the system would still be broken and people would still stop playing. It's just that the reason would be "well.. i got all the good stuff... so there's kinda no reason for the griding....". There would be exceptions for this, there always are, but it would still happen. For example, i don't care about it at all, i have been playing it just for the sake of playing, but not many share this view, some play for the LOOT, for reaching the "roof", getting all there's is to get or getting the most powerful there is to get. Mechanics like this, the prestige system and others that may be or not are there to keep us playing, if you break one of them the people that were driven by it would just stop.

The system they have right now is not perfect, i'm not saying it is, i'm just saying that making the loot so easy is not going to fix the problem! It could very well make another hole!

Luke and probably others have been working on fixing this, even bioware has seem how bad it is! But many times change is not fast, yet it happens.

Paid for platinum last week since I had cash laying around in the wallet and you were bound to get some cool stuff.

New chests loot pools must be incredibly diluted. Gonna pass.

These prices should've been flipped around.

BW bad at math. This is about 18x (for rogues / warriors ) - 36x (mages) or more far worse value (more rng depedent, given fewer chests able to be purchased) than the class chests, given unrestricted loot tables and inability to be purchased / gold earned for most players.

I would recommend against purchase for everyone.

If loot was that easy wouldn't you lose part of the interest in the game? Doesn't matter what you say, DAMP is at least loot driven, people crave and work for some items, even if it's just a chance for them.

Sort of. ME3MP was loot-driven and mostly RNG, but it had a much better system going for it. Unfortunately, they gimped themselves by not having weapons be upgradable and not having more predictable chests. ME3's chests guaranteed commons, uncommons, or rares depending on the chest, as well as adding a character chest, a weapons chest and an equipment chest later, which helped a lot. In addition, for every weekend challenge (both personal and global) that was completed, each player received an ultra-rare. That really got people playing on the weekends, because they could get pretty much 2 ultra-rares if they tried.

They don't have to add the chests permanently exactly as they were. They could make them a bit less good, but even having a chest for each class was helpful. I'd like to see them add even an inferior version of this chest that what they're currently doing, or at least have it up every couple of weekends.

Consistent DLCs would also keep raising the item "roof" and giving us new classes to play, so if they do that they don't need to worry too much about the roof I don't think. It's fun to get new things, but the fun doesn't stop there, because now you can try out your awesome stuff.

Class specific chests were OP.

Anything would have been a joke in comparison.

Not sure you guys are looking at these chests in the right way. You would be hardpressed to get one unique accessory in 13 chests (12.5) or 15K gold.

Sure its expensive...but with dragon weapons now in the game, accessories are the jackpot. Personally, I am approaching 1.5 mil spent and still don't have a superb cooldown amulet, superb crit chance ring or superb crit damage ring.

Worth it to buy these instead of large chests, imo. Will I likely waste the 30K gold I have saved? Yes. But would I likely have wasted it on large chests too? Yes.

I don't know if the odds of getting a specific unique item are much better from these chests, than from the normal large chests.

The odds are probably better, but given a short amount of time to farm for the gold to buy them, it really makes them look like they are platinum only or extremely lucky to hit your jackpot item.

He said the odds of getting a particular item was about 1/20. That's 300,000 gold if you bought 20 chest.

I'm curious about the odds of getting unique accessories from normal chests for people in the last bucket tier.

For 300,000 gold you can pull a lot of random uniques even from the normal large chests. Sure 90% of them may be crap, and may be duplicates, but you will see the same duplicates from these 15k chests as well.

Really? I had no idea that the weekend challenges were like that in ME! Great, i got to play it (i got over 13k challenge points, not that much but something) but i bought the game after they were over :/ Good to know this.

Due to how odds work, it isn't 300k gold. That may get the item on the first roll, or it may not even get it on the 100th, which would cost 1.5 million gold.

I actually have half a million and could buy 30 of these chests... I'm not going to do that, and I don't recommend it to anyone who actually has gold. Most don't, so it isn't even a question of whether they can afford these.

I don't even recommend it for platinum buyers. Terrible value.

Even the class chests required very good luck or purchasing hundreds of chests to get really specific items, and they had MUCH better odds than these chests. I do NOT recommend purchasing these 15k chests. Wait for the next weekend event chest that's worth it. BW makes math mistakes at times, and this is one of them. They'll fix it later, so save your gold until later.

Yeah, they were fun. Sorry you missed them! It was also more fun having a global community goal. I don't know why they decided to divide it per platform for DA:I. It just makes everyone feel less connected and less triumphant. Kind of defeats the purpose of a "community" challenge.

That's actually a pretty good you had. I don't know how aplicable the Dlc thing is, but it would surely help.

I hope that i could express myself right... i wasn't defending the loot system the game has, i was arguing against some of the propositions being made.

Thanks for answering!

Last week we had a pretty cool one though! This is gonna sound weird, but i felt.... "connected" XD (btw.. do you know if the ps4 playerbase is higher/more active for DAMP? I've seen the challenge goals for each plataform and we've been having the highest ones on the ps4)

Yeah, I'm not saying you can't feel like a community, I just find it's harder this way. I believe the PS4 community is the most active in multiplayer (and I would guess singleplayer too). If it's directly proportionate to the challenge goals, then there are more than twice the active players on PS4 compared to PC and Xbox One (or both combined). I would also guess that the game sold most on PS4. I bet Bioware is kicking themselves in the foot for choosing to market Inquisition primarily for the Xbox ^_^

If they made it permanet then the system would still be broken and people would still stop playing. It's just that the reason would be "well.. i got all the good stuff... so there's kinda no reason for the griding....". There would be exceptions for this, there always are, but it would still happen.

I have all the dragon weapons, but the one hander and shield are inferior to the previous top tier, which I haven`t gotten yet. Problem is, I am not obsessed with this game, so my top cloth tiers won`t allow me to craft 500 hilts and whatever Tier 3 upgrades for ALL my weapons, or even one of each.

So, I am in the funny position of not being able to craft Tier 3 one handed hilt, rather refusing to, because I still don`t have the Caliban.

So, that is the straw that broke the camel`s back for me, as I am past 1 mil earned and STILL missing what is arguably the top one hander. The time invested is not proportional with the reward, so it is better for me to stop and play something else. For me, the grinding, at this point, does not pay off and I refuse to grind another 1 mil just to find myself in the same situation as today`s.

The only question is this: How many left because they didn`t get what they deserved in a timely fashion versus the ones that left because they did :)

Ok. Painstakingly got the 15 000, because i wanted to try.

Couldn't play much last week end.

So : One rare, E belt of ranged defense, and one not so "unique" superb belt of... ranged defense... which i already had. And some common stuff that doesnt count.

So result , after salvage : 15000 gold for 2 druffalo hides and a Drakestone.

This is definitely something ME3 did better. Since packs guaranteed certain items, you both got more useful items, and had a much better idea of how long it would take you to max out your manifest, especially if you knew which packs to get first.

No personal offense meant or anything, but you do not deserve anything in this game.

That is the point of the RNG model. It's not about your personal sense of entitlement.

I read his post after reading yours and kinda agreed with it all until that one word. I don't know how he actually felt but maybe he picked a bad word for it. If he said "worked towards" instead of "deserved" I would have continued nodding.

I find that most of my more.....dedicated grinder type DAMP friends are of two types. ( like 6+ 250 completion character banners deep)

Those that crave progression and always are unhappy, and those that super happy- to just jam out and have fun just playing and talking in party chat.

The former is usually obsessed with the leaderboards.

The latter just have fun, knowing eventually they will get everything simply by attrition.

I prefer to play with the latter.

Not necessarily. In most games, if you put in enough time and effort, you will be rewarded. That's how it should be. ME3 had an RNG system, but still worked how I described. I think people just wish DA worked the same way.

No offense taken, but to me, 1 mil is the landmark of "grind vs reward". I have paid my toll at this point, or feel like it. This is not an MMO after all, it`s just a tacked on cheap 3 maps MP, with a late 4th and no "end game" to speak of. 500 hours and 1 mil+ should be enough to be maxed out.

I never claimed or said I deserved something at 100k, or 200k, or 500k and I patiently grinded my way to 1 mil. But, to me, that landmark is the "I deserve" mark, considering how thin this MP is.

Technically, you are right, but this is a highly subjective issue: How fun can work be in a game supposed to be fun and light on work? :) . For me the fun stopped at 1 mil.

Yeah if I spent enough time to get 1 million gold and didn't get the thing I was shooting for I also would call it quits. 1 million is a lot to acquire, what's the point if you have to try 1 million more gold worth of chests, or 2 million +?

It's better to shoot for completing challenges instead of obtaining items. Challenges aren't RNG and give you pretty little customizations.

The items will come, eventually. I guarantee you the 1million gold guy has plenty of viable endgame weapons.

Looking from the RNJesus in this game will eventually burn any player out. It did me for awhile.
