Alright guys, it's finally out on PS4. But I've been doing some research and I can't decide if I really want it, so I've decided to ask the people who might actually have a better opinion than news articles. I've been reading that the story is kind of meh.
Jaws of Hakkon: worth $15?

I liked it, but I never would have gotten it if it wasn't for the sale on Origin. Despite it being good, I don't really think it's worth 15$ if you don't have money to waste. You do get a large amount of content though, but it's not very story heavy if that's what you're looking for.

I downloaded the dlc onto my ps3 on Tuesday.
I say the $15 is worth it. It took me about 10 hours to complete it. The enemies are more of a challenge when fighting especially on nightmare. Lots of nice goodies the player gets throughout the dlc. I will probably switch to another character and play the dlc again with that character.

Yes. It will help you play the main game. Aside from the cool schematics and materials, the geography is different, not to mention pretty, and you have to think on multiple planes to navigate. The baddies have different tactics and learning to fight them will improve your survivability overall. After wandering the region for a while, I found myself applying all new tactics and getting lost less often. The story is OK, really, and you learn about an aspect of Ferelden culture that is not Andrastean, if that's your thing. Did I mention that the scenery is gorgeous and it's worth it for that reason alone? Seriously, I don't know what your financial circumstances are, but if you've got $15 to spare on entertainment, it's well-spent and you'll derive hours of enjoyment from your investment. There are lots of new areas, some nice tier 4 mats that you won't find elsewhere, plus better schematics than the black emporium.

I enjoyed it but I think it depends on if you liked the side areas in DAI because in a lot of ways JOH is a large map Crestwood.

You sold me.

If you like the game, yes. If you don't like the game, particularly side quests, probably not.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. Not just more to do, but more to do for a fully developed party. The challenge is quite a bit stronger. And the map of the Frostback Basin is I think one of the best ones in the game.

I'm on PS4 and I have to admit I can't muster up any interest in the dlc anymore... And at the same time I'm actually debating getting the CoD Advanced Warfare bundle that's on discount now, so, wow... prioritizing a CoD game over DA? Something must have really gone wrong with Inquisition for me to do that.
On topic, I haven't played JoH but I have read extensively about it and I still don't care, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(Also 'help with the main game'? There's help needed? What? Maybe if I lacked the fingers to button mash, but seriously, Inquisition is a cakewalk...)

It was a decent dlc. It didn't add more to the story elements i wanted, but still managed to stay interesting and had a little twist in it, which i liked. Also the side quests had dialogue! YES! Dialogue! There are still a few quests with picking up stuff, but not alot. The zone itself is gorgeous, the Avvar culture is fascinating and the combat is very challenging. I spent around 10 hours completing everything on Nightmare, which almost makes it a small expansion. Well worth the money if you ask me.

I thought it more like the Arbor Wilds, actually, with a touch of Fallow Mire, because of the Avaar. The thing is, there is light and color and most of the time, you're actually looking at things, not hitting the search and hoping they light up because you won't see them otherwise. There are a couple subterranean areas, and they are still dingy and dark, but for the most part, we get light and scenery to look at. And when you're searching, most of the time you can actually see what you're looking for, not just aim in the right direction, search, and hope.

I'm right at the point of no return so I haven't finished it yet but... I would say no. $10 maybe, but not 15.
I do really like how most of the sidequests actually tie into the plot and the area a lot better than in the main game. I didn't feel like I was wasting my time or that doing them was pointless, like I did in the main game.
Plus, you're not tied into the DLC until the point of no return for the plot. So you can come and go out of the area just like anywhere else in the game.

I might get it if it goes on sale. I don't think I want to pay $15.

Yes. I found it way more worth paying that, than buying the special edition of DAI that gave you nothing really. That extra money should be spent on the DLC imo. Luckily I never bought that edition.
It has lore, lots of surprises regarding what we thought we new of history, the new stuff is fun, the camps are awesome and the challenges make the Cory battle look like a regular fight. I recommend bringing Cass and Cole or Solas with you. They have much to say.

I would say that it's only worth $15 if you absolutely can't stand not having everything Dragon Age (like me). If you can live without things, or are low on cash, I would say it's not worth it. Get it if a sale happens though. I enjoyed it, despite wanting more character content.

My first time it was Cass, Cole and Dorian since I played it after the game. Dorian had stuff to say too. I like how they had new banter for it. Cole was my absolute fav because of his perspective on things and his ability to see/feel memories. I leaned more to him than Solas for that.

I enjoyed Dorian's new dialogue too, especially the banter you can participate in about being afraid of heights and talking about melodramatic plants ![]()

I bet it would be awkward with Solas. Lol I am romancing Iron Bull atm, so I'll see when I get there. I'm curious now.

Exactly @Elhannan I haven't played it yet but I do intend to make use of it with most if not all of the Inquisitor's I create here on in. Going t obe doing it as a rogue first though as that's what I'm planning for my next Inquisitor as I'm doing a non mage run of the games as I've already done the series as mages so decided as a new challenge to allow the keep to picfk what my characters Origin's and whether they be a Warrior/rogue or mage and it picked Dwarven noble Warrior for Origins and a female warrior Hawke. I onjly picked a rogue Elf Inquisitor as I wanted my Inquisitor to be different from the first 2 heroes to mix things up a little.
