Anders. It's a bit of a Mexican standoff between him, Valenna and Justice, but Valenna is a character I can at least work through, insofar as the Warden-Commander is concerned, and Justice is mostly forgettable, but I think that Anders comes out the winner [loser] here. My dislike for him started in Awakening. He just seemed to come off as a bit of a jackass, like he was channeling Alistair's deflection through humor but with less charm about it, and with his becoming a hybrid of that and Justice, that just takes all the marbles. He'll likely remain the only companion in all of Dragon Age that I have ever consistently booted from my group in every playthrough, and likely the only one I'll ever consistently kill for the duration of the series.

Up until DAI, I'd have said Velanna...now its a tie between Sera and Vivienne.  I get it, they have opinions.  Yet both love to seem to go out of their way to make sure that you know what they think about things that they REALLY don't seem to understand.  ESPECIALLY about elves and magic.  Velanna was jerk, but I kinda get why.  Yes, she was wrong, but she did soften a bit at the end.  Sera and Viv NEVER learn, they never grow.  I'll keep them on my team, but don't think that I'll be inviting them over for tea very often...

Not many terrible companions in my opinion, but Sera and Velanna are considerably awful.

Vivenne, Velanna, and Merril.  No I don't have anything against mages just don't like those three.

I have several least favourite companions for different reasons:

 

Velanna - I really, really hate Velanna. I dislike her murderous attitude and the way she doesn't even stop to consider she just murdered a bunch of people over a misunderstanding.

 

Sebastian - I don't really like or dislike Sebastian, mostly I just forget about him. Because of this I feel he fails the most as a companion because I can't even bring myself to dislike him.

 

Sera - During my first playthrough I was really having trouble understanding anything she said and I had the misfortune of triggering her kicking in that noble's head like a psycho fairly early. The cookie scene and playing pranks somewhat improved my opinion later and I discovered you can avoid killing the noble but I still can't quite forget that scene.

 

Blackwall - I don't really dislike him, I just don't find him very interesting. I do like his plot twist but it comes fairly late in the game and can't make up for the fact that for 3/4 of the game you're stuck with a boring and typical Grey warden character that doesn't even know anything about grey wardens.

Sera all the way the most annoying character I've ever encountered in a video game.

 

I would put Velanna second in my list followed by Vivienne, Sebastian and Anders.

I have to say Velanna. I don't dislike her, she is just not in the party long enough for her to make an impact on the overall story. Awakening in general moves abit to fast, but atleast Anders, Nathaniel, Justice,Oghren and Sigrun gets enough screen time to pull it off.

I've got no problem with Sera,  I always like having at least one archer in my party at all times so I alternate between her and Varric.  Also I like her anti-elitist attitude.  As for Velanna and Merill.  They are both nuts and don't help the dalish get any points.  One was nuts and went killing humans even when it was proven to her that the humans were innocent she didn't show any regret over killing the humans, and the other was just plain dumb summoning demons just to fix the stupid mirror.

Velanna annoyed the heck out of me for some reason.

Wynne's an option twice, and you missed Loghain, Nathaniel and Tallis.

 

Anyway, my vote would have to be... Sebastian? It's a hard choice 'cause I love all the main companions.

 

Saw the results. What's with all the hate for female elves!? ...I have to wonder what the results would be like if Tallis were an option, though.

Probably Vivienne, though really, she and Velanna are pretty much tied (I voted Vivienne in the poll, because if there's a paper-thin difference between them, I'd still say Vivienne's worse).  And that said, they're both worse than anyone else, as far as I'm concerned, by quite a bit.

 

Velanna's rude, self-centered, and she flat out tells you when she joins that she just plans to use her status to find her sister and to hell with any actual Grey Warden-ing...and sure enough, at least according to the game's epilogue, she abandons her post at the first opportunity in at least half her possible endings.  It's to the point where I have to really stretch things to even justify why I'd recruit her in the first place (which I prefer to do just because I'm a completionist).

 

And Vivienne, well, I've said it before but I'll say it again: it's like they combined the worst personality traits of the two main Mages from Origins into one: Morrigan's self-serving arrogance, and Wynne's "do as I say not as I do, because I'm a special snowflake" hypocrisy, while neither of their redeeming traits or adding any new ones.  I don't have the same problem recruiting her as I do Velanna, since, at least from a story perspective, she at least offers a legitimate alliance, though there are times that I have literally just forgotten she's even an option to use as an ally since I can't help but want to drop her from my party whenever she opens her mouth.

 

...and to complete the trifecta of games, I will say that while I don't hate him nearly as much, Fenris is my bottom character in DA2, just because he's so amazingly shallow.  Even he's not actively unlikeable, though, just really banal.

 The answer is Anders. He has 0 redeeming qualities from an in-game standpoint, and from an out-of-game one, his writing/execution is awful.

Actually I'm also not fond of Viviene, but she's somewhat more tolerable for me.

DAO: ....I like the party... but if I had to pick, Oghren.

I don't use him much as a party member and...I don't talk to him that much. plus there are better Dwarf charcters in the other games

 

DA2 : Fenris & Isabela. "Choir boy" Is also a charcter I don't like... but I'm just sticking with the two

 

Fenris just rubs me the wrong way and Isabela is a selfish cow...who would have left thousands to die to save herself

 

DAI: Vivianne hands down....I don't even talk to her.

Velanna is a no-brainer for me. She's the only character that I have never recruited again after the first play-through. I'm weirdly heartened by the fact that she's doing so well/poorly in this poll.

Probably Sebastian. He's not well incorporated into the game and never stops feeling like an afterthought. I feel pretty neutral about him, which to me is worse than strongly disliking a character.
