I haven't really touched him, but heard this and that.
Thank you for any advice.
btw, since she is one of only 2 sword characters,
chances are good we will get another sword wielder with next DLC, don't you think?

Yeah. You do somewhat less damage, but she can definitely still contribute. WoH+SP combo still kills everything.
Hes got his own detonator type combo, pillar of light then purge.
Just run into a group of mobs and do that with hok. Effective but boring.
I havent played him since tweaks though might be some viable variations now.

Eh... not really. They're all either based on the combo or some weird hipster off-tank thing.
Does no one realize the Templar is female? And high dragons?
Hey, I said she ![]()

Sorry
Just noticed that a lot lately. Anyway, I love the Templar, even when not fighting demons. I use Shield Bash as an all-round ability. Good for closing gaps, taking out Guard, and can do great damage to all enemies around you as well as knocking them down. I use Unbowed, which was buffed significantly, and can be used when incapacitated (knocked over or stunned by the Demon Commander) to instantly return you to fighting state. I use Shield Wall to laugh at arrows and things, and Wrath of Heaven for support and to kill demons.
I love her. She's not always the best damage dealer (even if you use the combo, chances are that if you're in a good team they may have killed things before you get there
) but she's tanky, she can take the team out of tricky situations and she's fun to play! Also different ways to build her to not get bored. ![]()
The templar is a freakin' tank nowadays with that buff to unbowed. I imagine that if the upcoming difficulty is as challenging as I hope that it is, the templar will be helping teams out a ton with unbowed/bodyguard.
Disclaimer - not really a tank...tanks draw aggro.
Anyway...shield wall/unbowed/WoH/Spell purge here.
Is she good? Pffffft. Not even a question. If I can do this solo on perilous, anyone can contribute meaningfully in a team environment.
Don't use Unbowed. Trash skill even with the buff. Shield bash (burst damage, guard killer, gap closer, best for dragonslaying) or Upgraded Blessed Blades (sooo many more nukes) ftw.

With a face like that, I consider her voice only falsetto. They need to fix the female multiplayer models because they look like they've all met the bad end of the ugly stick.
As for High Dragons, that he/she problem is because the High Dragon in the first game is genderless and the only other dragon you meet is Flemeth shifted, and the one you meet that's a "High" dragon in DA 2 is called a He, and now its been flipped to all High Dragons are female.
If nothing else you can heal your group to full when you die?
I'm currently running Unbowed, Shieldbash, Combat roll and spell purge which is actually pretty effective on Perilous. Shieldbash is excellent against units with Guard i.e. The dragon and Spell purge is good against enemies with barrier so she's quite versatile. I am tempted to sub spell purge with payback strike (just got the ring recently) as it has a much lower cool-down to spell purge
I invented this build.
...I'm not sure I'd admit to that. But grats!

Thanks. It's one of my crowning achievements.

Just don't try and claim my Chain Lightning on every ability slot Keeper loadout. It took me a lot of Routie runs to get it just right.

What?????? That's my patented keeper build. It's well renowned.

If you ever play with Drasca ('cause... you know... you lost a bet or something) this is the build you should use.

I think I'm like ~200 or so promotions short for match making to allow me in a game with him...Actually come to think of it probably more in the 400 ballpark

I did a combo build that used Line in the Sand as an effective means to chokepoint enemies into the combo for my first build guide.
...And then I did my pure leader build and haven't looked back since. Hipster? Maybe. Off-tank or combo-based. Most certainly not.
If it says anything, the Templar is the only class so far for which I have done two build guides. She has literally been one of my favourite classes since I started, and still is to this day.
She just needs to let Isabela take her shopping. Just sayin'.
Both builds are here:

could it be that she has higher natural resistances against Magic attacks?
Feels like it and - actually it would make sense for what she is

Defensively, she focuses on WILL and CON with a lot of her passives, giving her some well-rounded defense again melee and magic attacks. She also has the passive There is no Darkness, which grants a 10% resistance to all elemental damage to the entire party... But I am still not certain if all of those "Templar" passive apply to Blessed Blades, or just Champions of the Just.
She does not get a lot of CUN, meaning her ranged defense is a bit weak, however.

Belinda. Definitely a girl.
I'd be surprised if even not-Brevnau had concerns...
