Seriously, I don't think you get it, mate. Listen very carefully: All entertainment is qualitative. It's subjective. You seem stuck on this. Your view on playing to efficiency is, again, just one way of many to enjoy this game. Yes, even in a multiplayer public match. It's not selfish, it's called coexistence. Not everyone shares your view, and you should really accept that.
Everything is subjective. Yes.
But if you ask random player "Do you want to win?", guess what will be the answer.
This type of talking, made around that "fun" (mystical and subjective) is a value and efficiency isn't a king I've heard in pretty much in every multiplayer game I've played, starting on battlefield, ending with MMO games.
And strangely those types of statements are mostly made by ppl who just get carried all the time. In 99% it's a type of person which was kicked/criticized/etc because his or her build/tactic/etc was not efficient enough and party just failed.
My last was Guild Wars 2. "We should have fun in dungeons". Bullshit. I do them hundreds of time just because I need money. I need money to buy shines. That's why I prefer speedrun party with specific gear, class, tactic instead of random "I'm playing as I want" kind of ppl. I can do wacky things in private party with friend. I don't care there at all about efficiency. But PuG run is money run, for which I would choose and play as best as I can.
Doing run in 10 minutes instead of 40 is a value for me. I can do several dungeons in the same time (and have them be "completed" for given day) and spend the rest of time on my beloved WvWvW. This I call fun, not struggling with content I've done billion times because I am pretty much only player who cares in party.
Problem is, all those players who state that they play for fun, they also play for reward. They just don't care enough. They are selfish. They have fun doing nothing all the time and meanwhile some "efficient" players do dirty work for them. Aren't this selfish?
Why you don't get this basic, BASIC thing that fun of one person can't in negative way impact fun of another?
It runs Blessed Blades, Horn of Valour, Spell Purge, and Bodyguard. It's concept as a team buff/debuff support. These guys don't like it because they believe there is some law that the Templar must always have the Wrath of Heaven + Spell Purge combo.
It's not about lack of wombo jombo.
It's about lack of sense.
Did you test your build against red templars? ONE unit casts barrier and do it rarely. Archers with full draw applies shocked, also rarely.
What do you want to debuff? What do you want to cleanse?
It makes 2 of 4 skills just plain useless.
If you add barrier user to party (which is even more common now) now every skill on your list is useless. I don't see any difference between this build and level 1 templar. That's why I call this build bad.
