Not for a while... because the ones I've seen were terrible

That's very deceptive to new players and sugar coating it by a lot, especially that templar build. You should be calling it for what it really is: a terribly inefficient build that you perceive to be "fun".

Because all my builds are inefficient, I suppose? Yeah you fairly well confirmed that you have not watched any of them. Good job on just sounding like a troll though.

And I think you are actually agreeing with me, despite you best efforts to seem dissenting. My builds are fun for me, regardless of their efficiency. Sometimes, builds I find fun are efficient, sometimes they aren't. My Arcane Warrior was another example... I found the meta-build for the Arcane Warrior to be boring as hell, so I made something different. It wasn't efficient, and I did not sugar coat that in the video in the least.

But you are right. The point of it all? Fun. My builds are my subjective, qualitative perception of fun. And guess what? You view is just as subjective and qualitative. So is Drasca's. So is yarp's. That has been my one and only point of all of this. Get over your ego and stop thinking that your way is the only way. It's not, and never will be. I think we are done here.

I'm on PS4 so I can't click your link to see the video and don't feel like typing out the URL...What Active Abilities are in this build? I'm curious now because of so much hate...

It runs Blessed Blades, Horn of Valour, Spell Purge, and Bodyguard. It's concept as a team buff/debuff support. These guys don't like it because they believe there is some law that the Templar must always have the Wrath of Heaven + Spell Purge combo.

It's not my cup of tea, no offense, but I've definatly ran a Templar without the Wombo Combo before, and was top of the charts at the end of the round. It was threatening mind you, but I hardly felt I was getting carried. I mean, I ran a Threatening at level 1 and got second place the other day, so all I had was auto attack lol....

I can see their point, however. But ultimately it's no ones call but your own what you run. If you like it, go for it. If you don't wanna play with people who use non-optimal builds, then don't pug I suppose. I've completed countless Perilous runs with 1 or more team members face down, even myself on occasion if I'm not on a comfort class or with a good Virtu/Keeper. So I guess as long as you're on your feet at the end of the game you're not hindering your team at least ^^

You have no basis for that statement, as I never even said what my "way" is. I suggest you take your own advice and jump off the "bandwagon full of conjecture"

For a game that requires only gear and promotions, some people seem to be so up themselves.

You play on threatening don't you? I love SW and SB and CR of course, just not that particular combination of abiltiies. UB still sucks, especially made redundant with CR around, and on Perilous.

You can get away with hipster builds on threatening, but you'd have to be carried on perilous, as even I would have more difficulty carrying with that build on Perilous.

You should make your own thread for your own builds here too.

I don't expect anyone to carry me and I didn't play perilous with that build but hey, thanks for assuming. I wouldn't call any of the builds I use "my own" either so prob not going to make a thread. I've been thinking about making a "shitty threatening pug build" thread tho, but I think it would escalate a bit too quickly.

Seriously, I don't think you get it, mate. Listen very carefully: All entertainment is qualitative. It's subjective. You seem stuck on this. Your view on playing to efficiency is, again, just one way of many to enjoy this game. Yes, even in a multiplayer public match. It's not selfish, it's called coexistence. Not everyone shares your view, and you should really accept that.

Everything is subjective. Yes.
But if you ask random player "Do you want to win?", guess what will be the answer.

This type of talking, made around that "fun" (mystical and subjective) is a value and efficiency isn't a king I've heard in pretty much in every multiplayer game I've played, starting on battlefield, ending with MMO games.
And strangely those types of statements are mostly made by ppl who just get carried all the time. In 99% it's a type of person which was kicked/criticized/etc because his or her build/tactic/etc was not efficient enough and party just failed.
My last was Guild Wars 2. "We should have fun in dungeons". Bullshit. I do them hundreds of time just because I need money. I need money to buy shines. That's why I prefer speedrun party with specific gear, class, tactic instead of random "I'm playing as I want" kind of ppl. I can do wacky things in private party with friend. I don't care there at all about efficiency. But PuG run is money run, for which I would choose and play as best as I can.
Doing run in 10 minutes instead of 40 is a value for me. I can do several dungeons in the same time (and have them be "completed" for given day) and spend the rest of time on my beloved WvWvW. This I call fun, not struggling with content I've done billion times because I am pretty much only player who cares in party.
Problem is, all those players who state that they play for fun, they also play for reward. They just don't care enough. They are selfish. They have fun doing nothing all the time and meanwhile some "efficient" players do dirty work for them. Aren't this selfish?
Why you don't get this basic, BASIC thing that fun of one person can't in negative way impact fun of another?

It's not about lack of wombo jombo.
It's about lack of sense.
Did you test your build against red templars? ONE unit casts barrier and do it rarely. Archers with full draw applies shocked, also rarely.
What do you want to debuff? What do you want to cleanse?
It makes 2 of 4 skills just plain useless.
If you add barrier user to party (which is even more common now) now every skill on your list is useless. I don't see any difference between this build and level 1 templar. That's why I call this build bad.

I'm not very experienced with the templar myself, I find it a very boring class to play personally though I have not given the support build a try. Just regarding the point you're making on the debuff which I assume is spell purge; it's to my understanding that this skill damages all enemies within it's radius so long as just 1 unit has some kind of status effect that could be cast by other team mates or barrier on it. So even though you're only dispelling that one enemy you're still throwing out a burst of AOE damage.

Is that right? Like I say I'm not very experienced with that class but I swear that's what I noticed when using SP without WOH.

Hmm I wonder who's alt this is...

ABC is himself. He isn't controlled by anyone else. I run with him often he is an excellent player and very knowledgeable with the game. I often ask him question even though i know quite a bit. If you don't take anyone else's advice at least listen to him...especially with Duelist. That isn't an alt for anyone

Yes it works in that way. One unit with barrier in radius and it deal damage (if you have upgrade) in aoe range.
But unit's don't have "buffs" aside from barrier. Venatori mages buff units with barrier, on demons rage demon, despair demon and wraith cast barriers. Still you won't damage if you just dispelling debuff from party member.
That's why I call it useless entirely o red templar. One unit cast there barrier and do it rarely.
I also think that you can damage with spell purge revenant for some strange reason. It has some uses in general on demons, it has some uses in general on venatori (but not every wave) but it has no use on templars.
If you add to it bleesed blades, which buff works only vs demons -> this build "works" maybe on demons.

I don't even notice the extra damage with Blessed Blades on demons. I have used this before for the upgrade with CDR. Works well. However, I was running SW, Wrath+Purge, BB so the CDR was for Wrath+Purge.
