Hey everyone. Well I was all excited to order my game on amazon and had it on launch day. Of course there were issues with connecting to the network, but then i also realized all 3 pc's i have dont meet the minimum requirements to play the game. So of course it locks up everytime i click what character i want male or female. So I'm going to buy a new pc. Does this pc meet the minimum requirements? Just want to ask before i order the pc.

An actual, discrete video card produced by either ATI or nVIDIA is required. As is clearly shown in the widely published and easily available system requirements.

Hard Drive = 15 GB
DVD ROM = 1x Speed
Sound Card = DirectX 9.0c compatible
Direct X = DirectX 9.0c August 2008 (included)
Input = Keyboard / Mouse

If you have an option to go with the GT 250, that one is good, but the 240 is not very competitive in performance with the Radeon cards in its class (like the HD 4670, which is much better, and much less expensive).

it doesnt give me an option for that video card only the 2 i said earlier and also a ATI Radeon HD4350 512MB

just my opinion, HD4350 is really low end - spend a little more money, for maybe a HD4890 or something it is more fun having headroom and play this game with all settings on high.

The X4500HD
Is about as fast as the 8400GM
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102865
I recommend this
If you want a dedicated
The 8400GM
has about 6.4 GB/s of max speed
The Card I recommended has a speed of
73.6 GB/s
and to place that into speed terms that is for understandableability
it equals 1008 GFlops
and also if you want to upgrade your cpu
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819115036
It should be combatible to your motherboard if you get a new bios for it :\\

None of the three is a high-performance option; other makers are selling better performance than whoever you are thinking about buying from! The Intel is bargain basement junk, the HD 4350 is basically the game's bare minimum equivalent (despite being named as unsupported, I've checed it against the published minimum, and I don't like either one of those). The GT 240 is "fair" when compared to the HD 4350, but it's not any better than year before last's 9600 GT, and costs much more than the Geforce 9600 GT does.JayDilla34 wrote...

In order from weakest to strongest:
9800 GT http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130535
HD 4850 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150351
GTS 250 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150357
GTS 250 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130514
HD 5770 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150462
HD 4890 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150438
HD 5850 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814161302
Either of the cards will run Mass Effect with supreme brilliance. And pretty much every other game as well.
Note that the higher resolution you play the game on (max resolution is limited by your monitor) the worse it will run. That said, even the 9800 GT will run Mass Effect at full force on a 1920x1200 resolution.

the 5770 is the faster and better rebrand of the 4890
they are exactly the same speed

The HD 48n0 cards all have 256 bit or higher memory systems. The HD 57n0 cards, so far, are all 128 bits, and thus, basically just very fast Mainline / Medium cards. As you can see from this, that change and the memory clock speed are different.Seronx The Cursed wrote...

P. S. I could edit my statement to the thread up above, I suppose, but since I woite that, I opened an mWave eMail ad, and they are selling a GT 240 that will be price-competitive with the HD 4650 after mail-in rebate, although still isn't as powerful as that older model Radeon card is.

you would do better off not buying an hp... they are designed to fail just out of warranty. believe me, i know. also, if you are out of warranty, they want you to pay $50 just to talk about what may be wrong with your computer. hp are a bunch of crooks, do not buy from them. if you are looking for an already built pc, try these sites
