Would you date Shepard in real life? What makes Shepard attractive as a person?

Well, Jack tells my Shep that he is weird and that it gets her off.

I'll grant you that she will say that to every/any Shep that triggers that dialogue, but, it fits with what I was doing.

Not to mention that my Shepard is pretty dashing (well, before ME3, at any rate). I daresay better than Sheploo.

"Don't agree so fast, you ******!"

yesterday someone replied me with this "BroShep is like the ultimate force of will in the whole galaxy! He's every womans wet dream! He literally ticks every box for being attractive that has ever been mentioned by any female ever."

They're probably not serious.

I hope.

actually he is,

Spoiler

and when I said... nope and simply said his interpretation of "sensitive" was way off.

Spoiler

first time I had someone says I have bizarre views of romance and this is my reply to that

Spoiler

and I always thought I am quite a romantic person but I'm always a realist in a relationship almost to a fault and I can always blame myself for that.

I could say FemShep is a fantasy character herself but there are various real women in history that was as inspiring as her. But the game never treat her as a sex symbol nor does automatically view her as "every man's wet dream". Maybe I shouldn't anticipate too much realism in BroShep as a character but I could see him as a modern interpretation of Odysseus. (holy sh.. Ashley thought herself as Penelope. Now that made sense)

I would agree with him that this stuff can be a male fantasy catered to men. I want to be a dirty cop...in space. No doubt. Having lots of creds too.. that'd be cool. Charismatic...maybe. Sounds like less of a pain in the ass than what I go through.

I think I might be better looking though.

I do have a soft spot for Devil May Cry's Dante (who can be really renegade) and Aggressive M!Hawke. They can be really attractive and interesting even if they're not realistic as dating material (and they are vg characters anyway). Sexual attractiveness is highly subjective and harder to replicate in fictional characters. But I guess BroShep's constant state 'availability' is kinda a turn off.

*shrugs* oh I dunno, that's why I'm asking this things la...

Dante is corny (in a good way). I wish Shep had a little bit of that.

haha~ I could totally believe that. Its Miranda's project after all. Whatever 'enhancement' that gave BroShep an edge.

I don't think you're supposed to have so many "romance" scenarios to begin with. I'll leave that up to you Paragons who are trying to make everyone happy. :P

Take ME1: I pissed off Parasini, executed Shiala, made fun of Ashley's grandpa, etc.. Problem solved. Not everyone likes this Shepard.

My jerkShep got Parasini killed. Noveria's not nearly as cold as Shepard's heart.

That's colder than even me. I just don't use charm/intimidate unless it's a new game+. So I take either the Opold or Lorik route.

JerkShep was a riot though. After having some fun on Noveria, he gleefully killed the rachni queen, then made a snide comment to the snotty turian about wiping species out, provided he didn't hang up on them.

Thankfully, the Lorik charm/intimidate exploit still exists, which allows me to max out both renegade and paragon, so I can do the Warlord mission specific to renegades AND the one where you save the scientists regardless of the other choices I make.

The one i feel kind of bad about is Shiala. I got to thinking that if you finally destroy the Reapers, she'd be cured of indoctrination. And she doesn't flip out like Rana Thanoptis, because the colonists keep her in check in the meantime.

Shiala was already freed from indoctrination, thanks to her time with the Thorian.

She doesn't say that in ME3 if you save her. Her only salvation is the colonists help drown it out.

I'm sure I'm still indoctrinated. I remember Sovereign's voice in my mind when I went willingly to the Thorian as its thrall. But my connection to the people of Zhu's Hope is stronger. It drowns out the Reaper voices.

It was my understanding that Shiala is connected to the colonists because of the residual thorian spores in their systems.

Yeah, she is... but she's still indoctrinated..Everyone who worked with Saren is screwed... It's only that Colonial/Thorian connection that keeps her sane.

But I think if you destroy the Reapers, the signal would be gone in the end, and she'd have some real peace.

Apparently the wiki entry on indoctrination is wrong then.

What does it say?

I don't mean to complicate things.. lol. I was just going by her email. She still hears the Reapers.

It basically says in the wiki that the indoctrination was supplanted by the thorian when she was given up for the cipher.

Considering my canon was a colonist/ruthless renegade Shepard I'd probably feel too intimidated to date her. She did have a hard beauty to her, but even so.

I have this curious thought about Shepard and the game's romance dynamics and I wonder... Shepard received all kinds of female and male attentions and you have a choice in pursuing any of them because the game is written that way. But this doesn't explain why everyone want Shepard. What qualities that make him/her desirable to almost everyone they met?

Regardless of how your Shepard looks (default/custom/male/female), what make him/her attractive as a potential LI?

Edit : yeah, I asked this again on Reddit. I'm just curious.

Renegade Sheploo is my canon Shepard and I would totally date him. He's attractive, strong, funny, a bit of a jerk but has the back of the people he cares for. He took responsibility for the safety of his crew to his own detriment (Start of ME2) He also has a successful military career. If we ignore the whole working for Cerberus thing. He's ambitious and can cook.
