He took it serious with the "We'll bank, okay?" thing.
@streetmagic funny how when reversed, only the Asari can be made pregnant by FemShep... and a pregnant FemShep herself.

Yeah, I know. Bummer.
I'm just making fun of maleShep, like you are though. I really don't get the appeal myself (not on this level
).

C'mon, don't leave out Kelly and Chobot just because they are tertiary characters that hardly anyone likes. They are just as affected by broshep's charming, bricklike personality and often cringeworty mocap.
also LOL@ quarian-human hybrids. This isn't Star Trek just yet.
technically, there's one pregnant Cerberus crew on board. Is there a resolution for them?
I was watching Prometheus yesterday. Somehow the idea of Tali getting pregnant reminds me of a particular scene in that movie... ![]()

Why did you have to remind us of the existence of that film? Not even Fassbender could save that travesty, probably because he was a goddamned robot.

Well, it also reminded me of Requiem
, but I decided to use a more tempered example ![]()

It's better than the last couple of Alien films imo.

Apparently the new Alien sequel is tossing out 3, Resurrection and Prometheus as non-canon.
I'd date my custom male ME3 Shep. Just him tho.

Funny thing is that this playthrough is the province of FemShep...

Well. From my perspective - I would say that FemShep is attractive, powerful, influential and decisive. Those things are all attractive in a person.
But usually I look at FemShep from Liara's or Garrus's perspective. Liara made friends with Shepard - like in ME1 they were buddies and in ME2 they were better buddies, I sometimes think that the intimate relationship is just a byproduct of that. Garrus first like Shepard because she was cool and that.
I would agree that Shepard isn't the most interesting character, but luckily in game-context, she doesn't have to be. Unless you pick the Torfan background, in which case Shepard is a pretty interesting character.
Its easier for me to see Shepard as a person rather than a blankslate avatar while romancing Kaidan. He did say it plainly; Shepard is an adventurous, amazing and beautiful woman. If you let her, she do love his attention. She's not a girly girl but she is a hard woman to love. Everyone was intimidated by her especially men (except for Kaidan who seems cool working underneath her... ok that came out wrong). I like that Shepard always look at him longingly like he's something she could never have.
Been trying to breakdown the why do I like Shepard so much.
I think what I love about the character is the toughness, the vulnerability to those he/she cares for, the honesty that he/she doesn't know everything, his/her combat prowess, the confidence in believing in flat out doing the best job possible even against all odds, the never give up/never surrender part, the authority the character exudes (evident from the first time we see Shepard strolling to the bridge on the Normandy to ... well ME3 falling down / embarrassing scenes), the sense of humor, the "I call you on your BS and I'll make you eat it" attitude...
I could go on. But the character isn't like any RL person I've ever met.
I guess that's why I'm attracted.
Note: My character may not match YOUR character. It's how I play and interrupt interpret choices I make while playing. Your games will most definitely have a different perspective. And that's OK with me.

Samara in the background is killing me.
Isn't this SR-1?
I do have a soft spot for Devil May Cry's Dante (who can be really renegade) and Aggressive M!Hawke. They can be really attractive and interesting even if they're not realistic as dating material (and they are vg characters anyway). Sexual attractiveness is highly subjective and harder to replicate in fictional characters. But I guess BroShep's constant state 'availability' is kinda a turn off.
*shrugs* oh I dunno, that's why I'm asking this things la...
I find it funny that fem & broshep are basically the same person, but I wouldn't touch him in million years, yet I'd totally marry Femshep and have her blue babies. And I'm mostly straight. There's something different about Femshep, and I don't know if it's voice acting or just the fact that she's woman, but the whole character gets another perspective. Mostly, I like the dominant aura mixed with a little compassion and occasional silliness (like the dancing). She's just a whole person, I don't know how else to put it.
(also, I **might** have a teeny tiny martyr/savior fetish)

See, for me it's the exact opposite. I'm bisexual, but I wouldn't touch Femshep with an eleven-foot pole. Maleshep, meanwhile... I can't put my finger on it any more than you, but...

sums it up fairly well. Maleshep is cool, calm, in control, and stays positive despite being under massive trauma. He'd be a wonderful source of support and compassion, offering the inspiration and guidance I as a person need. And he's got a sense of humor, as seen in Citadel (and even Samara's recruitment mission).
I've been thinking about the same thing for some time, actually. I swing both ways, but I've come to the conclusion that I'd probably date neither. I haven't played manShep yet, so I reserve some judgement for later, but he comes across a little bland. Maybe it's the thing somebody's mentioned here - the typical male hero vibe. (Not saying manShep is any worse than femShep! It's just my personal feeling at the moment, really.) While femShep is rather a person I want to be rather than date, lol. Because who wouldn't want to be a kickass space soldier that punches yahgs in the face, slaughters several waves of enemies, including a big mech, all on her own, and talks back to two kilometre tall monsters with that amazing voice? It's not just me, right? I think the fact that it's a character the player is perhaps supposed to identify with a little because they're under our control the whole time and we decide their attitude and traits... well, it complicates things.
From objective perspective, I can see why the other characters/people would like Shep, though. Well, unless you play a jerk, then I have really trouble to believe it in some cases. To believe that Kaidan with all his, as he says, integrity would go for somebody deliberately malicious. However, Shepard, even if somewhat a bastard, is more often than not a selfless character (No matter their outlook, they still give up normal life to ensure the galaxy has some future to look forward to.) that's just there for their companions. They spend tons of time together, both on the battlefield and outside of it. Shepard listens to them, gets under their skin. Notice how freaking pissed Miranda is when you try to talk to her at the very beginning. She's not at all impressed with Shepard at first, but warms up to them later.
And as somebody mentioned, some companions have specific things they like about Shepard, e.g. Kaidan (Sorry, my only romance so far.) tells Shepard how awesome she is, adventurous, resourceful, a little crazy with all those stunts, charming. If you are nice to him, he likes that Shepard listens and doesn't judge him. They're a good team. And I think he and paragonish Shepard have a lot in common. I also think it's a little bit of the subordinate-superior thing because he calls Shepard "Commander" so often it might as well be her first name, lol.
From what I've seen of Garrus romance from my friend's playthrough, it's a relationship based on mutual respect and admiration. (ME2 romances are generally a bit creepy in their execution, though. But let's put it aside for a moment.) First it's more or less friendship with benefits, then they fall in love with each other. Somebody correct me? With Tali, they seem to grow close throughout their time together and she seems to admire Shepard. I do admit there's also a little bit of that vulnerability thing on her side - e.g. Shepard's the one who may hold her when she cries on Alarei. Being somebody's shoulder to cry on, in this case quite literally, is no small thing and it tells something about that particular Shepard - showing they can be kind, compassionate, gentle.
What I'm trying to say is that different people like different things, each Shepard is a bit different, treats their companions differently, and that spending a lot of time with somebody who you have a good relationship with can mess with your head as well, heh. So I don't think there's a universal answer to this. It is interesting to ponder, though. Somebody will find a charismatic person charming, somebody will find them intimidating. (Look at James. He's a flirty bastard, but were femShep to make a move, he'd run away screaming, lol.) It's even more difficult because renegade and paragon Shep are very different people. Personally, full renegade Shepard would probably be very frustrating and irritating for me to deal with and considering them relationship material would be absolutely out of question. Something in between or a paragon one would be much more likeable to me, personally. (I keep repeating "personally, personally", lol. Just want to make sure it doesn't come across as more than an opinion.) And that is also the exact reason why I went for Kaidan's romance. Because I'm boring like that and like goody-two-shoes. That's my kind of thing.
