There are a bunch of new mods. Most likely, they're still figuring out what they're doing, and much like when EA blitz-hired mods in 2013, they're making mistakes and doing weird things while they learn the system.
 
But don't mind me, continue speculating about how a locked/moved thread means the mods are calling Off Topic filth. That's a rational, reasonable assumption.

Mod in question that inspired this thread is Selene Moonsong, who has been a mod since before I was even an active poster here. She called the thread 'spam' and 'nonsense' and said it belonged in Off-Topic or something to that effect, moving a locked (lol) thread here. We also know Priestly wanted to shut the Off-Topic section down in his time. Allan is also not very happy with many Off-Topic regulars.

It's not a stretch to see that the moderation team does not look kindly at the Off-Topic section. In general, the mods here don't like anything that isn't specifically related to their games. It's one of the reasons why they shut down groups, for example. Simply put, they don't like people talking about things that aren't BioWare games.

More than one mod can respond to a thread, which is why sometimes a thread will have a combination of being moved, locked, and deleted. And the influx of new recent mods combined with a thread receiving multiple fates is exactly the kind of thing that was going in 2013 when the new mods joined.

 

And I believe what she said was, "Please don't clutter the forums with nonsense threads." The thread was part of an ongoing tendency in the ME 3 MP forums to make multiple carbon copy knock offs of silly threads with slightly modified titles, so in context, the comment made sense.

 

Besides, I don't believe that individuals speaking their own opinions reflect the opinions of everyone they work with.

Apparently, the off topic forum is the BF's sewage plant because when someone takes a crap and produces a steaming pile of bull**** thread on the MP forum, sometimes it gets flushed and ends up here!

If their goal was to eliminate or hamstring rather innocuous features while allowing stupidity and perversion to fester in certain sub-forums -- and I am most certainly NOT referring to the ME3 MP forum or romance threads  -- then they've done a great job.

 

Before anyone accuses me of calling ME3 MP forum goers stupid or those who frequent romance threads perverts, you can save your time.

I don't know about you guys but I'd just like to say. 

 

Mods you're doing a great job. You guys really are the unsung heroes of BSN. And even though I haven't been here as long as many of the OT regulars. I like to think, that it was being able to see the Mods as active, fair, and contributing members of this community. That really has made my time here worthwhile.

Lol speaking of black people, I remember when Tips played the race card to get out of a ban one time. BioWare sticks up for minorities tbh. Because it likes to be progressive and inclusive

One guy I knew escaped a ban once by pretending to be asian. It's super effective.

Doesn't matter. Off Topic is still the most sane, least nonsensical part of the forums. Those were just great examples of why. Passage of time won't change how crazy the Mass Effect forums are.

Most of the troublemakers have either moved to the off topic forums or have left the bsn.  Most discussions in the ME forums these days revolve around what people are hoping to see in ME next.
