What's the deal with the High Dragon Challenges?

I've been monitoring my status on each difficulty and not getting credit for completed games. If I solo the match then I get credit for each one but not everytime on a team match. Please tell me these challenge aren't set to "get the killing blow" in order for it to count.

Noone wants to play 45 dragon matches on Routine just to get the 15 they need. It would be easier to just solo the game in that case. Not to mention the amount of wasted dragon calls. There are some really bad players out there.

 

This is even worse for Perilous because you guys have this set to 3 different dragon types. If you were scoring this retroactively, then I was only given credit for 15 Ice Dragon kills out of +70 Perilous games. 

 

You guys need to fix this or I guarentee you will be seeing some games getting wrecked.

It's been noted by BLuke that it will be "get the killing blow" until the next patch. The next patch should make it count whenever a dragon dies, so every party member will get progression in this challenge. He wasn't sure if he could make it retroactive though.

Edit: But then again, we're still waiting for AOE Daggers to be counted as Daggers so...

I don't mind the perilous challenge as they end up being completed eventually. But I'm not stepping into routine. That's a complete joke.

It would've made more sense if they just left it as it was and lowered the killing blow requirement. They could've even ran "get the killing blow" as a separate challenge, then added the "score X amount of dragon kills as team" challenge with a patch.   :angry:

15/70 = 21.42% (I quit counting dragon farming after 70 so the percentage is actually lower).

 

25/.2142= 116.71 dragon farm games for one type dragon (on average).

116.71 * 3 = 350.13 dragon farm games to complete all (on average)

350.13 *4 = 1400.52 games if Perilous is set to Random (simple math, not actually adjusting for randomness and frequency of specific dragon types).

I wouldn't say you'd get there 'eventually' unless planned on only dragon farming for 4 weeks straight. However yes I still prefer the ME3MP style challenge system where they gave you credit for completing a challenge on a higher difficulty. The PUGs on Routine are so bad that I opted to solo the challenge rather than play with them. I'm sure that's not the team-spirit BW was going for.

It will be switched from killing blow credit to party credit with a server patch, so you should be seeing it soon.

I have no clue why they are forcing us to play on lower difficulty. Once you have XXX amount of promotions, doing any routine run, is about as fun as being kicked in the ******.

It's quite true, though. Once you can solo routine as a lvl 1, it's just totally mindless.

What's wrong with that? Don't knock it till you've tried it... a few times.

 

I get why they do it this way. It's so vets can't get easy LB points by only playing one difficulty whereas newbies would have to play twice as long across multiple difficulties for the same result. There's two ways they could compensate for that:
1. Extend the lower difficulty requirement and reduce the higher difficulty requirements or

2. Run them consecutively instead of concurrently. IOW, if the player has completed the higher level difficulty then start counting their higher difficulty plays as completions for the lower difficulties. That would make it so they didn't have to drop down a difficulty, but they also did not receive unearned credit.

Still not getting credit for dragon kills :( Killing blow does not seem to matter as I have killed them solo without the catapult and they still don't always count.

What platform are you on?   It was working yesterday evening as completions (Perilous;storm/inferno)for the party regardless of who got the killing blow.  This was on Xbox one.   I can't verify trebuchet kills though as we didnt want to chance that.

Xbox one as well.  It is hit and miss.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  I'm normally good at finding a pattern but have not been able to pinpoint a cause yet.  I seem to get credit more often if I'm solo and can ensure the killing blow but even that is not 100% and been avoiding getting the kill with the treb as well just in case.

It may have also been before any updates as it was early this morning and it was not tracking correctly then.  Have not tried since then.  Will see once I get off work if its working now or not.
